kiarfuzzy Posted June 28, 2018 Posted June 28, 2018 Saving images in paint.net could be a bit less annoying. I do a lot of quick and repetitive image editing and saving them as jpeg is really annoying. I have to go to multiple steps each time: File > Save As Select Jpeg from menu - There should be at least keyboard shortcuts for saving straight to jpeg and png, because this are the formats most people use. Choose Quality - this should have like a checkbox to "Remember Settings and Never Show" Flatten Window - Ye i know the image will be flatten, done this like a million times, stop bugging me with this (Never Show this again checkbox) Also about "Flatten Window" why not automatically "Undo" after save to get back the layers and stuff?
toe_head2001 Posted June 28, 2018 Posted June 28, 2018 I suggest you create a macro with AutoHotKey, or a similar program. My Gallery | My Plugin Pack Layman's Guide to CodeLab
Rick Brewster Posted June 28, 2018 Posted June 28, 2018 You can use normal keyboard accelerators to select JPG. Namely, Tab for moving the keyboard focus and then J. The Paint.NET Blog: https://blog.getpaint.net/ Donations are always appreciated! https://www.getpaint.net/donate.html
kiarfuzzy Posted June 29, 2018 Author Posted June 29, 2018 (edited) Well i should't be force to use another program to do a task like this. What i ask shouldn't be hard to implement, maybe make something similar to Ctrl + Alt + Shift + S on PS At least do something with the "Flatten Window" popup and behavior. I shouldn't loose my layers after is save to jpeg/png. Most of the people who uses paint.net use it for quick image manipulation, so saving the result shouldn't be so tedious Edited June 29, 2018 by kiarfuzzy
Pixey Posted June 29, 2018 Posted June 29, 2018 3 hours ago, kiarfuzzy said: I shouldn't loose my layers after is save to jpeg/png. @kiarfuzzy It only takes ONE action ......... Undo, to get your layers back after saving to jpeg/png How I made Jennifer & Halle in Paint.net My Gallery | My Deviant Art "Rescuing one animal may not change the world, but for that animal their world is changed forever!" anon.
kiarfuzzy Posted June 29, 2018 Author Posted June 29, 2018 @Pixey Well add that 1 action to the fact that you need to select jpeg each time when saving a image, plus confirming that you want to flatten the image. Now repeat this on 10-15 images and you will see it becomes quite annoying...
Rick Brewster Posted June 29, 2018 Posted June 29, 2018 Well i should't be force to use another program to do a task like this. Why not? Why should I be required to implement everything you ask to attend to your preferences? Existing keyboard commands and external software is exactly how to accomplish this. At least do something with the "Flatten Window" popup and behavior. I shouldn't loose my layers after is save to jpeg/png. So then you press Ctrl+Z to undo. This is all moot and a complete waste of time to discuss because YOU WON'T INSTALL UPDATES ANYWAY. https://forums.getpaint.net/topic/112942-cant-install-latest-version/?do=findComment&comment=546705 *facepalm* Just a big ball of stupidity here.
