tome10 Posted April 19, 2018 Posted April 19, 2018 Piece of cake! I have no idea how lol. I've surfed some threads on the GIF animations plugins, I've watched a youtube video on 3d text that I couldn't follow. So first thing is how do you flip the label on it's back and show depth? Does this have to be done in the text creating process, or can a label be extended? Quote
Ego Eram Reputo Posted April 19, 2018 Posted April 19, 2018 Sounds like you want this plugin... https://forums.getpaint.net/topic/108312-trs-monolithic-3d-text-generator-april-30th-2016/ Quote ebook: Mastering Paint.NET | resources: Plugin Index | Stereogram Tut | proud supporter of Codelab plugins: EER's Plugin Pack | Planetoid | StickMan | WhichSymbol+ | Dr Scott's Markup Renderer | CSV Filetype | dwarf horde plugins: Plugin Browser | ShapeMaker
tome10 Posted April 20, 2018 Author Posted April 20, 2018 Thanks Ego, I'm trying it out. I just was hoping for a way to incorporate the bars on the O. Quote
Woodsy Posted April 20, 2018 Posted April 20, 2018 @tome10 you might find that O with the bars in a Greek font and download that. 1 Quote My PDN Gallery
tome10 Posted April 20, 2018 Author Posted April 20, 2018 Fiddling with it, I may actually be looking for a 4D textblock in order to facilitate the rotation and see the back as it comes around. Is there a way to build-out using a layering technique? There's an Edge Detect Plugin that I don't know how to use, can it extend the edges out? Quote
Ego Eram Reputo Posted April 20, 2018 Posted April 20, 2018 Try looking up 'Trail' in the Plugin Index ? tome10 Posted April 28, 2018 Author Posted April 28, 2018 Editing the O is extremely cumbersome on all the layers I need, does anybody have any experience with editing a font? I downloaded fontforge, but I really can't figure out exactly what I need to do in there. Ideas? Quote
Woodsy Posted April 28, 2018 Posted April 28, 2018 I've edited a font once a while ago. The easiest editor I found is Birdfont. It's lots easier than Fontforge. IMHO! Quote My PDN Gallery
Woodsy Posted April 29, 2018 Posted April 29, 2018 (edited) What is it you're really looking for? Edited May 1, 2018 by Woodsy Quote My PDN Gallery
tome10 Posted April 30, 2018 Author Posted April 30, 2018 I really want a 4D version where you see the back, but just what I can manage with TR's Monolithic is what i'll settle for the time being. A little tweaking, and that program would be really good at making Gifs. I did manage to edit my font which saved the project. I used Glypher Studio, and it was really really easy. I couldn't figure out font forge, or birdfont. I had to convert the file back to TTF for TRMonolithic to recognize the font. Like this: 1 2 Quote
Woodsy Posted May 1, 2018 Posted May 1, 2018 That's really good @tome10! If you want to do it without TR's plugin try the Add Depth plugin. That's what I used. That plugin and Rotate/Zoom made it real easy. Maybe by using Rotate /Zoom you can get it so you can see the back. Anyway, it looks like you've got it under control. Have fun! Quote My PDN Gallery
tome10 Posted May 1, 2018 Author Posted May 1, 2018 Thanks Woodsy. I can't seem to find Add Depth in my toolbag. Where should it be located? Quote
Woodsy Posted May 1, 2018 Posted May 1, 2018 (edited) Add Depth If I can help anymore just ask. Edited May 1, 2018 by Woodsy Quote My PDN Gallery
dipstick Posted May 3, 2018 Posted May 3, 2018 You did a great job on your animation tome10. Well done with just PDN.... For these type of things, I like to use Blender. More options and better quality. Here's something I made just a couple of days ago. Not too bad for just started learning two weeks ago. 1 Quote
tome10 Posted May 15, 2018 Author Posted May 15, 2018 Scripting: PDN has Scriptlab, and I played around with it a little, but couldn't get it to advance the ball. In Monolithic, I would like to advance the Yaw by one, paste into new layer, re-open Monolithic, and repeat say; 87 times lol. Is that possible? Maybe I should go check out Blender. With a few tweaks Monolithic would be really good at this. The shortcut at the top of effects that gets created that says "Repeat Monolithic" would repeat the advancing of Yaw would be awesome, but it doesn't. Thoughts. Quote
tome10 Posted May 15, 2018 Author Posted May 15, 2018 Err.. Blender looks like a Cad/Cam program. Suffer through countless yaw rotation layers, or learn Blender. Choices choices. Quote
