Ego Eram Reputo
Hi Nellie! Welcome to the forum You want to insert the image..... on top of another image? if so open the main image then use Layers > import from file to add the second image. it will be automatically added as a new layer. If the second image is much larger, the canvas might be resized too. Try it and see how you get on. Feel free to report back if you have any problems. NinthDesertDude
Do you mean you want to load the image? If you open paint.net and click the File tab at the top left, then click Open, you'll get a dialog box that lets you open the image. Navigate to wherever you saved the image. If you got it from the internet, it will be in a folder called Downloads.

NellieTheNoob
How do I mash the layers together? Edited March 22, 2018 by NellieTheNoob Found the answer, had another question.
Ego Eram Reputo
Flatten the layers into one single layer? Press Ctrl + Shift + F. I suspect you might actually want to blend two images together, if so, you need to place the two images on separate layers. Then erase some of the top layer to make the bottom layer show through. Here a tutorial using the Gradient Tool to make some of the upper layer transparent Edited March 22, 2018 by Ego Eram Reputo Added missing SHIFT Quote ebook: Mastering Paint.NET | resources: Plugin Index | Stereogram Tut | proud supporter of Codelab plugins: EER's Plugin Pack | Planetoid | StickMan | WhichSymbol+ | Dr Scott's Markup Renderer | CSV Filetype | dwarf horde plugins: Plugin Browser | ShapeMaker
NellieTheNoob
When I press Ctrl-F, it doesn't work. I'm trying to make one layer under the other, because the other layer is transparent in some places.

NellieTheNoob
OK, I get what your saying, but I can't get the image on the second layer. When I do, it shows the image on the top of the screen in it's own little box. When I make a new layer, and insert it there, it does the same thing. You need to press Ctrl + Shift + F to squash all the layers in to one layer. NellieTheNoob
When I press Ctrl+Shift+F, the little lading circle shows up on the tip of my mouse, then stops, and nothing happens. When I did what you said, the same thing happened.
