Am I allowed to ask for help with a design I am doing

Recommended Posts

So I am currently trying to design a background for the dashboard panel for an app.

Attached is what I mean ( The black Box)

Problem is that...well in short...I cant make a very good background for it.

I don’t want to sound like an A-Hole right now but I need someone’s help to make this.

I am trying to make the background similar to the backgrounds of the 2 menus attached.

Reason I am asking on here because I am not willing to pay money for it but I will definitely give credit.

I can provide more details but I first want to check if I am allowed to ask on here.

thanks a bunch! ?

So you want to make a simple Color Gradient? You have never used any Image Editor? Learn it! Read the manual, learning by doing and "try and error" may work.

@IRON67: How about a little help for the Newb?

Hi FreshMint - welcome to the forum :)

Try this....

1. Create a new layer :LayersAddNewLayer: in your image (or open a new image)

2. Activate the Rectangle Select tool :RectangleSelectTool:

3. Drag out a thin rectangular selection across the bottom of the layer.

4. Activate the Gradient tool :GradientTool:

5. In the toolbar, choose the Reflected linear gradient option :GradientTypeLinearReflected:

6. Hold down the Shift key and drag out a vertical gradient in the selection you made previously.

7. hit Enter to commit the gradient to the canvas.

Tip: the gradient will use the Primary/Secondary colors as the base for the gradient.

Here's how do draw a gradient using paint.net:

1) Select the starting color and ending color for your gradient using the color docker window.

2) On the canvas, click and drag from where you want the color to start to where you want the color to end.

3) Press the ENTER key to finalize your gradient.

As you can see, the users around here are very helpful. However, they will not do your work for you. You must do it.  Try the suggestions posted in this thread and let us know how it works for you.  If you get stuck, show us what you've tried and ask for help.

You know, that I help, if someone need some help. But I have zero tolerance for someone, who asks for solutions instead learning to work with a software he has installed.

You're assuming a lot there. :D

I did check the EXIF data of the images the OP posted... no trace of paint.net.

Thanks for all your responses.

I am doing this as a favour for my friend making the app.

I know how to make a gradient, however it never really looked good with the app.

However, after using a couple of effect plugins(mainly crystallize), I have made a good looking background

thanks
