Paul G
Hi, I have been using paint.net for many years and am currently having a problem loading the programme. I am using windows 10 which is fully up to date and have .Net framework installed. I get an initialization error (see photos) when opening the programme. I have downloaded the current version (4.0.21) and am still getting this issue. I have looked at the permissions of the folders in the error and they are ok, tried opening the programme as administrator and tried compatibility mode but no joy. Does anyone have a solution? Cheers Paul
IRON67
I think, you have problems because of your Anti virus. See: https://forums.getpaint.net/topic/110411-common-install-uninstall-crash-problems-and-solutions/ Quote If during install you receive an "UnauthorizedAccessException" to your "AppData" path, disable the "Controlled folder access" option of Windows Defender. It's a stupid feature that breaks a ton of legitimate applications.
Paul G
That's brilliant thanks. I added the program to the trusted list in windows defender and I have paint.net back. Thanks again
