When I would start paint.net, everything would load but the canvas and then it would close. I uninstalled and tried to reinstall but whenever I run the install program, the initial thing pops up and I see the install bar and once it gets to 100% it closes. A few seconds later I'll see a window appear but then quickly disappear on the taskbar. I checked the processes and it doesn't appear to be running in the background when this occurs. I've tried to install older version of paint.net but none of them work either. You're on the latest version of Windows 10. Maybe run "sfc /scannow" to see if there are some corrupt OS files, or run chkdsk to see if this disk is corrupt/bad. Maybe your antivirus/antimalware or other "security" software is getting in the way. Make sure you do have all Windows Updates installed. Chkdsk returned the same result. I have no installed any new security software recently and it always worked before but I do have malwarebytes. I do not believe it is causing the problem as I disabled it to test whether I could install paint.net or not. My system is up to date. To clarify, I can install other programs, just not paint.net so it isn't a problem with my windows installer. The initial installation progress bar opens up and once it reaches 100% it closes. Another window opens up but closes immediately after. I guess I'll just have to use this version.
