Henkey
This didn't work for me. Would you post a video tutorial for this.
Ego Eram Reputo
Align Object needs to be used on an object (i.e. a group of pixels) which is surrounded by transparent pixels. Put your object on it's own layer and run the plugin. 1 Quote ebook: Mastering Paint.NET | resources: Plugin Index | Stereogram Tut | proud supporter of Codelab plugins: EER's Plugin Pack | Planetoid | StickMan | WhichSymbol+ | Dr Scott's Markup Renderer | CSV Filetype | dwarf horde plugins: Plugin Browser | ShapeMaker

Antediluvian
Greetings! Pasted pixels into new layer on a larger image, chose the plugin command, clicked every button in the menu and the selected pixels didn't move. Am I misunderstanding the plugin's effect? Antediluvian
I'm trying to find a way to move freshly pasted group of pixels to current center of the canvas (screen center, that is), without having to drag them from the corner after each new paste operation. Will the plugin be of any help in that case?
xod
If the pixel group is pasted on a new transparent layer, it will be helpful. The plugin only works on objects on a transparent layer. After pasted, be sure to deselect the pixels as @toe_head2001 said. Edited July 26, 2018 by xod

toe_head2001
What does the Test checkbox do? I can't seem to figure it out. Quote (September 25th, 2023) Sorry about any broken images in my posts. Eli
I do not have the Test checkbox. I think I have an older version.

My case: copy item icon from the sheet, select only meaningful pixels of it, paste the pixels onto map image and move to indicate the correct position of said item. Every time I paste another icon I have to drag the pixels from top left corner by hand to currently centered area. I'm trying to find a way to either paste directly into current center (but not fix in place, as fine adjustment is needed) or to alter paste position with some plugin. Sample pic attached (de-colored).

Antediluvian
Works that way, but the plugin uses image sides and corners, and as you can see on the pic, it's not my case. I was trying to find a workaround for dragging pasted image to center area, but it only gets more complicated with plugins, so I guess I'll just keep dragging. I will change it. It's about low-opacity pixels which are not visible. Test's purpose is to reveal these pixels. Sometimes, around the object of interest these pixels are present and alignments can become confusing for less experienced users. You can use this check box and Reset position button to see these pixels that lead to an alignment that does not meet user expectations. HCGS
By far, THE SINGLE MOST USEFUL PLUGIN ever made for Paint.NET. I use this literally all the time, I don't know how would I live without it. This should be added to the base program. Well done sir.
Ego Eram Reputo
To be fair there are at least two other Align plugins....but I agree - this is very well implemented and a favorite of mine too. Cointape
How do I install this? (Also, in a video I'm watching this was already in paint.net, but it is no longer in the effects menu like it used to be, as that menu seems to have been revamped) Edited September 2, 2019 by Cointape
NSD
The plugin is located in the Effects > Object submenu. For installation, copy the dll into the Effects folder.Start Paint.net and check the presence of the plugin.
lynxster4
@Cointape, xod's Align plugin is found in the Effects menu, not Effects > Object. Follow the above instructions and copy the dll file into the Effects folder. @xod...you should re-word post 1 to reflect where the plugin installs. ReMake
@lynxster4, Align Object by @xod located in the menu Effects -> Object, but Align Object by @moc426 really is on the menu Effects.
