Trying to hide text in front of a gradient

Recommended Posts

Hello everyone!

I am currently trying to hide the name of the characters in the attached image (the text that reads "Clad", "Vaughan" and "Cid").

My problem is that I can't find a way to do it without the wrong color showing up, because of the orange/black gradient...

Can any tool in Paint.NET help me with this situation?

Thank you greatly in advance for your help!

You could try the Clone Stamp Tool - play with various size brushes and hardness https://www.getpaint.net/doc/latest/CloneStamp.html

It's Trial & Error but you can keep clicking undo if it doesn't look right

... you can see where the brush was too big and I started copying the text

Oh wow it works perfectly! Thank you so much!

No worries.  It may be a slow process but more time better result.

You could also try adding a new layer, paint some black with the paint brush tool then experimenting with Gaussian Blur and or Motion Blur to help cover any imperfections.

Then play with Opacity in the Layer Window to help it blend in more

CID should be pretty quick ;)

Oh it was quick by using your first technique, as you can see in the attached image. You made my day, thanks again!
