DracoClaw
I was wondering if there is a way that I could use something like the quick select from Photoshop? Not the magic wand, it only selects by color and not very well.
Ego Eram Reputo
Assuming you have your object on its own layer: use the Magic wand to select the transparent surrounding then press Ctrl + I to invert the selection. Disagree about the Magic Wand BTW Quote ebook: Mastering Paint.NET | resources: Plugin Index | Stereogram Tut | proud supporter of Codelab plugins: EER's Plugin Pack | Planetoid | StickMan | WhichSymbol+ | Dr Scott's Markup Renderer | CSV Filetype | dwarf horde plugins: Plugin Browser | ShapeMaker
DracoClaw
@Ego Eram Reputo I'm trying to take a picture and remove its background. It's not one color so the magic wand has issues with it. Edited October 24, 2017 by DracoClaw
Ego Eram Reputo
Complex backgrounds can be difficult to remove easily with one or two clicks. Do a search for "cutting out images the easy way". That tutorial might help you. Alternatively, upload the image and let us have a look at what you're trying to achieve. TrevorOutlaw
Have you tried this plugin? I sometime have to use it. Alternatively, you could do an Internet search for PNG files where background have been erased for you. For example, you could type in "lantern png" in your preferred search engine, and find something like this readily available.
