It has happened many times before and is not something we can change with the software we use on the forum . Could you perhaps have confused the votes with @welshblue's? His and your entries were very close together. This picture is marvelous at this size with this effect. @Pixey it isn't a problem to change the vote at the last minute. I vote in the last hour (was about to forget it). It's a part of the game as the rules are the same for everyone. I hope this strategic part won't deserve the artistic creativity of competitors...
