The weird thing is paint.net works fine before after a sudden hiccups and crashes paint.net was unuseable am in desperate to use this applicaton for my project i have my nvidia driver installed (latest one) Best Regards, Itsproinc
itsproinc
Edit: Just scrolling through the forum found a similar problem what i had to do was Nvidia control panel -> Manage 3D Settings -> Global Setting -> Preferred graphic processor -> integrated it seems it wont work with nvidia where running on intel hd it works like a charm
Rick Brewster
Yeah there's a bug in either the Win10 Creators Update or the NVIDA driver that it comes with, but only for some laptop Quadros chips. RR55
I'm having the exact same issue on my Windows 10 desktop. I don't have Nvidia but I did update the Intel drivers. No dice. Any other suggestions other than re-setting my computer? I use paint.net for my business and can't do without it! Thanks, Reynaldo
toe_head2001
Hey, @RR55 Which version of Windows 10? Fall Creators Update, or which? Intel CPU model? For example, Core i7 7700K Can you also attach your crash log? Quote (September 25th, 2023) Sorry about any broken images in my posts. I am aware of the issue. RR55
Hey toe_head, Thanks for the reply. The version is Fall Creators Update (1703). CPU is i5-3570. How do I attach the Crash Report? I'm receiving a message that I can only upload 256 kb and the report (.evtx) is over 2 MB. Is there a particular format that is better than others? FYI, just tried to uninstall paint.net and got this error message: Reynaldo Edited January 20, 2018 by RR55 added error msg

So, it paint.net still installed? 2 hours ago, RR55 said: Fall Creators Update (1703) Umm, no. 1703 = Creators Update 1709 = Fall Creators Update Which is it? 2 hours ago, RR55 said: CPU is i5-3570. Ok, your graphics driver version should v15.33. https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/26813/?product=65702 2 hours ago, RR55 said: the report (.evtx) is over 2 MB A log from the event viewer? Don't you just have a plain text log, like the original poster did? Quote (September 25th, 2023) Sorry about any broken images in my posts. I am aware of the issue. Rick Brewster
I'm pretty sure you're getting a different crash. For this thread, 1) you do get a crash log, and 2) the exception is NoHardwareDeviceException Quote The Paint.NET Blog: https://blog.getpaint.net/ Donations are always appreciated! https://www.getpaint.net/donate.html
