So, switch to the default theme.

Surprisingly I know this alternative. I've chosen the Goodnight-Nurse-Theme to nurse my eyes 'cause the default theme is too bright.

Thanks anyway...

I didn't know we had a choice & I like the Goodnight Nurse theme. Sure could be better contrast with some things but overall I find it easier to navigate than the default.

Thanks @IRON67

Yeah, ever since the latest forum "upgrade" both color themes are messed up.

Eventually we'll get those sorted out.

What's the difference between 'Like' and 'Upvote'? Do people get their reps no matter which one you choose?

I agree. What's this?  :/

As per what I've been able to check, both upvotes and likes are added as reputation points, or so it seems so far.

I created the Goodnight Nurse theme almost one year ago for our own NiteNurse....

I'm (slowly) developing a less bright theme for the forum. I've called it Goodnight Nurse (because NiteNurse was the catalyst for it). Find it under the Themes menu at the foot of the page.

I intend to keep developing it as time allows, so expect changes :)

If you give a rep/like but you have used your daily allowance the rep doesn't register (as expected) but there is no notification that it hasn't registered?

OK, I tinkered with a few settings.

While not perfect, it is an improvement.

Default theme:

- Messages in threads are now separated

Goodnight Nurse theme:

- lightened the background of bread crumbs and gave them 10px padding

- Moderator buttons easier to see on dark background

- Previous and Next buttons at bottom of page now visible

- Posts now have a 10px left margin in the body of the post

(I highly recommend switching to the Goodnight Nurse theme as it seems to get the most attention from the mods.)

That's one thing I'd like to see changed. I'm easily confused, and it confuses me. I wish there were only one button. I'd prefer it be the Like button, since that's something most people are used to from Facebook, etc.

Both 'Like' and 'Upvote' count towards reps.

I like having both. Here's how I've been using them:

If it's "my cup of tea", I'll give it a 'Like' (the Heart).

If it's not "my cup of tea", but it still has merit, I'll give it an 'Upvote'.
