- hotkey for scan image dialog open

Alt + F then Q - you can see that Aquire in the File menu has the Q underlined. That is your hotkey/keyboard shortcut.

Well... thanks but this isn't hotkey at all. It's combination of keypressing Alt then F then Q and then S. Anyway the second is moar important to me. I look into the registry and can't find anything relating this question in pant.net branch.

That's because there is no registry key.

Paint.net defaults to exactly two image formats: PDN (for multi-layered images) and PNG (for single-layered images). Each of these is lossless. Paint.net does this so that, by default, no image data is lost during a 'routine' save.

The paint.net developer has designed the program to work this way so that users are protected by default, and no data will be lost. If you choose to specify a different image format a dialog asks for confirmation - this is your warning that data will (likely) be lost.

Multi-layered TIFF's are not supported

Here are Rick's (paint.net developer) thoughts on the TIFF format

I can bet but I don't wanna. Tiff is an adopted standard. Png doesn't contain meta I need. Pdn isn't supported by soft I use afta Pant.net. Ok I can do it to spend a lil moar time.
