Popular Post BlastWave 203
Hello everyone, I've been a long time user of Paint.NET and lurker of the forum. I'm a fan of military modeling and designs and use Paint.NET to draw and shade the various vehicles and pixel/sprite style soldiers I make. I've been using this program for around 7 years now, so I feel like I should probably make a thread here for some of the stuff I've made. To start, here's some of my recent scenes. Pixey 4,800
Hi @BlastWave and Welcome to the forum. These images are wonderful and each one tells a different story. I love the fire blast effect, in the first one, and some of those vehicles are amazing. Great work indeed . 1 Quote How I made Jennifer & Halle in Paint.net My Gallery | My Deviant Art "Rescuing one animal may not change the world, but for that animal their world is changed forever!" anon. I see you play with the aircraft fonts as well Exactly the level I hope to achieve. Only been using paint for 3 months - 6 years and 9 months to go. A tut on your Starship would be much appreciated. Woodsy 853
Incredible work there BlastWave! I particularly like the 8th one down (the one with the trees ). You've got 2 years on me and it shows! Really looking forward to more additions to your gallery. The tractor is very well done also! Beta0 85
They're really good. My favorite is the second one. It shows that the rotor is in motion. And the use of colors (from dark to light) and blur aid in perspective. Oh, almost forgot. Welcome to the forum! BlastWave 203
Thank you all very much for the feedback and the warm welcome. @AndrewDavid I don't really have a tutorial for these, but I do have some timelapses and a WIP of one of my tanks. It essentially starts with a really rough black and white sketch of the design done in Microsoft Paint, I then trace and clean it up and begin the linework after that, when I finally am satisfied with the detailing, I take it into Paint.NET and start coloring it in and shade it using various layer modes. Here is kind of a progress photo of an old sci-fi tank I did. This is the finished product, if I remember, it took about 2 days to finish. Here are two timelapses of the ships: http://i.imgur.com/YfRHTh7.gif http://i.imgur.com/PsUCYUV.gif Finally, here's all the spaceships I've done so far: Edited July 8, 2017 by BlastWave
AndrewDavid 730
Thanks for sharing your artwork @BlastWaveWe are so on the same page. I'm learning to do exactly what you have done. Make sure you check out Shapemaker to see what I did yesterday to begin my process. A shape is always a good starting point. Paint on!

Joshua Lamusga 263
Teach me, master. (I really like your atmosphere and the tank in the clearing is a great example. Drydareelin 264
Fantastic artwork. I like the silhouette helicopter picture specially due to the shape, lighting and movement effects you've used. Keep it up! Quote Gallery DeviantArt Planet Tutorial | Sun Tutorial
BlastWave 203
Thank you all very much. I'm really happy you liked the timelapses. And thank you @Joshua Lamusga for the attempt at a nomination to the galleria! Since you guys liked them so much, I've decided to do some more of them. To start, here is a scene I actually did for a friend last Christmas. Timelapse: http://i.imgur.com/oXEZQOX.gif The enormous armored bulldozer in my first post, separate from the scene. Note the little soldier for scale. Timelapse: http://i.imgur.com/ZhFH4Jc.gif A little World War I fighter biplane, a mix of 3-4 real life WWI fighter planes. Timelapse: Finally, last but not least, here are three random 1940s/50 race planes.
