Per-layer edit history? Or flagging edits with layer ID?

Recommended Posts

I suspect like a lot of others, I keep individual areas of manipulation in separate layers. For example when working on a a face, eyes, teeth, lips, glare, wrinkles, hair, etc. all go into separate layers as each has a different process applied. It would be nice if when setting the active layer, its edit history could be brought up in a window separate from the global edit history (maybe a session level option to choose one form of history display or the other...?). A simpler, but still very helpful tweak would be to merely tag edits in the global history with the layer (when appropriate) upon which they were applied.

I could find only one very old (2008) post related to this so I thought it might be worth bringing up again.

Thanks!
