Thank you @Seerose! I thought the chariot was the hardest part, and then I started drawing her. Eek!

Thanks @Pixey! I'm sure she would like to tell us once her driver gets back from the charioteer's room.

I think it's wonderful @LionsDragon!   <3     Drawing from scratch like that is hard.  You did a great job!   :star:   :)

@MadJik yes I know, but I'm not confident at all in my profile drawing (yet). Technically the torso should be the only part facing the viewer while the rest is in profile; this was how they believed they showed the most attractive parts of humans IIRC. I'm hoping to become more proficient in profiles so I can create them accurately. :)

As a side note, I tried standing like that once as a kid and fell over! Clearly, the Egyptians were far more graceful than I!

Thank you @welshblue! And yes, I would love love LOVE that tutorial!

It started out as @MadJik's textured floor/gravel effect, but it didn't fit the picture at all. Thus, the sand; unfortunately, if we look at scale accurately, she's zipping around on a desert full of marbles. :P

@lynxster4 thank you! <3 She started out as a facial study, and then the Lion mentioned he wanted to see her in a "b----ing chariot." Et voila! And your horses were exactly what she needed! Ipuki is the one rearing (red stars on blanket) and Kahmet is the serious one (with yellow stars).

... but just think of the skill she needs to pilot the chariot on them ;)

I found that memory stick and it's actually more realistic than I remember, I'll get it sorted for you

This could be why the charioteer made a break for it actually....

Brilliant! Thank you!

The view of the artist is always "artistic"!:)

Or "chiropractic" in the case of the old Egyptian murals!

@Rickhum, thank you! I minored in history when I was at university; it's something that's always fascinated me. Although, I think my gallery is starting to make that pretty obvious. ;)

I have an ongoing debate with Afrocentrists and other revisionists.

I didn't do a lot of schooling so I'm catching up on history now.

Great subject.

Good onya LD :-)

Ohhhhh - I love this @LionsDragon <3 It reminds me of those cards that pop up when you open them.  Those trees positively glow.  Did you use the method from Blast Waves tree tutorial?  Excellent work indeed and the lovely black Ravens just set the scene off perfectly :D

:music: Silent night ... Holy night ... All is calm ... All is bright ... :music:    That's the first thing that came into my head when I saw it - and I'm not a Christmas person.

Great job on the different types of trees they really blend nicely together.

Very Yule-ey all round

(although I've always found ravens and crows creepy )

TBH, my train of thought was more Charlie Parker...but this works! :)

The sand/soil tutorial is juuuuuust visible in here; thank you so much!

I know a lot of people find blackbirds unsettling, but I have a connection with them: whenever I see blackbirds, I have good luck. *shrug* Who am I to argue?

That was kind of the effect I wanted, yes. :) And yes indeedy, I used @BlastWave's tutorial! I just put snow on the branches instead of leaves...I was trying to resurrect the forest near my mom's house, which unfortunately has been cleared for development.

When the prefect paint.net image is created, I will still be wondering "How they Do that?"- sigh☺️

@BlastWave thank you! I've been meaning to try out your tree tutorial for a while now, and this just seemed perfect...of course now I have to make some with leaves....

@Scooter welcome back, my friend! And thank you! I lost count of the layers (probably upwards of 100?) but it was worth it.
