Cool effect, well done! It's even more interesting when you play with blending modes. Here is "Color Burn" blending mode over "Scratch Art Effect"...

Version 1.2 - added transparency adjustment for Single Color. Now, by setting the transparency to 0 and applying the effect, you can add several layers below the Background layer and color them as you like.

Yes, it's easier now to color the image - and several layers are not even necessary! You can use one (below "scracth) as a painter's palette adding more and more colors (and picking them again from this "palette" any time, too).
