ittayd
I know I can create a selection of fixed size and fill it. But what if I just want a frame (no fill)? How can I create such a rectangle of the exact dimensions I want? I guess I can create another selection, of smaller size, match it to be in the center of the filled rectangle (how? except by moving very carefully?) and then erase. But surely there is a better way? Eli
Make your selection and use Tr's QuickOutliner effect or Toe_head2001's Inset Box Shadow effect or the Outline Selection effect. Edited August 28, 2016 by Eli
Pixey
Hi @ittayd and Welcome to the forum . I may have misunderstood what you are looking for, but perhaps you may find this tool useful to draw a frame. Woodsy
Hey ittayd, Welcome! You can use the Rectangle Select tool to select the size you want and then use Borders N' Shapes by pyrochild. Quote My PDN Gallery
IRON67
I do not understand why you do not use the conventional rectangle tool. The dimensions of the current size appear in the status bar of Paint.net and you can fine-tune it by pulling the nubs until they comply with your wishes. Is that all too much effort?
