ta2
Ever since I updated to 4.0.10, the "Adjustments" and "Effects" buttons don't work.. Everything else on that toolbar (File, Edit, View, Image, and Layers) works fine. Now, I've tried reinstalling multiple times and I'm still getting this issue, I think it might have something to do with my plugins. Sorry if this whole thing sounds vague, but there's really nothing much to it, I click one of the buttons, and nothing happens.. Thank you in advance! Ego Eram Reputo
Do you mean the menu doesn't open? Wow. Never seen that one before. Try running pdnrepair.exe. You'll find it in your pdn installation folder. 1 Quote ebook: Mastering Paint.NET | resources: Plugin Index | Stereogram Tut | proud supporter of Codelab plugins: EER's Plugin Pack | Planetoid | StickMan | WhichSymbol+ | Dr Scott's Markup Renderer | CSV Filetype | dwarf horde plugins: Plugin Browser | ShapeMaker
ta2
I ran PdnRepair.exe, and restarted my PC... Still not working. I took some images so you can see clearly. This is what it looks like after I click File: And after I click Edit: View: Image: Layers: And this is what happens after I click Adjustments: Nothing. Same with Effects:

ta2
Got anything in Settings -> Plugin Errors? Well, I found out I had 25 plugins that were causing errors. I deleted all of them, and opened PDN. I looked in settings again, and no more plugin errors...But that didn't fix it.. I have many plugins that I acquired years ago. I don't even use most of them anymore due to them not working or me just not needing them. I dont think it'd be hard to list the few that I actually use, delete ALL my PDN files, and then reinstall the program and my plugins. Do you think this would help? Or would it be no different from the regular PDN reinstallation that I've tried before? Thank you both for your time.
toe_head2001
Before you delete anything else, make sure it is the plugin(s) causing the issue. Just rename the Effects folder, so paint.net can't find any effect plugins. Then open paint.net, and see if the menus are functional. Quote (June 9th, 2023) Sorry about any broken images in my posts. I am aware of the issue. My Gallery | My Plugin Pack Layman's Guide to CodeLab
ta2
Wow, that worked, toe_head! Thank you for helping me figure out the problem.. Now that I know what it is, how should I fix it? Would my original plan work? I feel like now that I know its the folder, I could just delete all my plugins, save the ones I use frequently. Thanks again. ta2
I've deleted all my plugins, and downloaded a couple plugin packs and everything is working fine now. Thank you everybody!
xod
Please check if this happens to someone else: 1. Open PDN. 2. Go to Settings (Gear icon) and untick Translucent windows then Close. 3. Try to open Effects or Adjustments menu. Nothing happens. 4. Go to Settings and tick Translucent windows then Close. 5. Try to open Effects or Adjustments menu. Now it is working. Windows10 (x64). xod
Diagnostics don't show me any error, instead there is some loading plugins errors: Spoiler Ok, I renamed the Effects folder and the issue does not exist anymore.
BoltBait
Sorry, xod, if I wasn't clear... After clicking click the Diagnostics tab (not the Plugin Errors tab). Then, click the "Copy to clipboard" button and post that info here. It could actually be very important. The info I was after was your video card info. Rick might be able to correlate multiple similar bug reports and adjust his code based on a similar video card. 1 Quote Download: BoltBait's Plugin Pack | CodeLab | and a Computer Dominos Game
