patsyscloud
HI: I am a newbie here. I have the latest version of Paint. I wanted to open a document from my MSN e-mail. Paint tells me that the document wasn't properly decoded. What should I do. I have windows XP Pro. Thank you Pat

HITMAN-X-
Wait you say a document as in a text file ?, Paint.NET is an image editor not a word processor. Quote DEXTUT.COM
patsyscloud
Thankyou. But I have tried all other kinds of programs to open it. It won't even open in Word.
Myrddin
Sometimes attachments in emails - whether embedded within the content or not - can become corrupt. If you could upload the file here on the Forums with the Attachment field below where you type your post, we can have a glance and determine what could be wrong. We cannot promise miracles, though. If the worst comes to the worst, you will have to ask the sender of the email to resend you the file or find another means in which to transfer. (In that respect, you could use an online image-hosting service such as Photobucket, or online media storage services, which includes MediaFire as one example.) harold
I'd look at the first bytes, and google them Many filetypes begin with a magic number Of course it doesn't always work.. but very often it does Quote I would write plugins, if I knew what kind of plugins were needed..
