Green Gates
*Note I have only encountered this problem with paint.net v2.62* Whenever I save or create a png file it saves it as a Paint.net file. If I save as a paint.net file it saves as a paint.net file. Aswell all of my previous png files are paint.net files.
Born2killx
Hmmm... Doesn't happen to me, I think. All of my PNGs are PNGs... Quote I built my first computer at age 11!
Green Gates
I have the latest version v.2.62. Hmm every single png is a paint.net. It evens saves as a paint.net when I use ms paint and save a png file. I'm going to convert back to v.2.61 for the time being until this glitch is fixed. Green Gates
Here is the picture of the result when you save a png. Notice the png icon.
Rick Brewster
That just means that Paint.NET is set up as the default image editor application. That doesn't mean that it is no longer a PNG image. Green Gates
Not exactly. With bmp and jpegs and every other format it doesn't say "Type: Paint.NET"
Rick Brewster
Trust me, it is still a PNG image. Quote The Paint.NET Blog: https://blog.getpaint.net/ Donations are always appreciated! https://www.getpaint.net/donate.html
Green Gates
I've figured out it's still a png but why is it making them say there a Paint.NET file it's annoying to have to go through your pictures to see what file format they really are. Are they're any plans to fix this problem in the future?
SearedIce
it's annoying to have to go through your pictures to see what file format they really are. You can have Windows show files with their full names. Like, your "untitled" png would look like this: "untitled.png" or "untitled.PNG". If you want to do this, go to the Control Panel (Start Menu->Control Panel), then open Folder Options, then click the "View" tab at the top of the dialog box. Now, scroll down in the little window, and uncheck the box that says "Hide extensions for known file types".
darknight
If you know a little bit of Windows using you could change file type association Open Explorer go into Tools > Folder option There is "File Type" tab, here you can reset the name and program for file type PS maybe the menu name are wrong, i'havent english version if windows
