Editing an image with paint.net will not display in Expression Web 4 HTML Editor

Recommended Posts

Yeah,   would you believe this?

If I edit or create any image with paint.net I cant use any of the images on any web pages in Microsoft Expression Web 4 editor....

I can use Paint, Expression Design 4,  to edit images and I can use all the images in the web pages in Microsoft Expression Web 4 editor perfectly,,,, these other image editors work fine...

After spending months and months thinking it was the HTML Editor Expression Web 4, or maybe Server 2012 which is my OS, I have re imaged and re installed everything four times over....   It turns out to be Paint.net,,,,,  I cant tell you how much I want to curse every curse word on the planet.....

I have no idea how paint, net saves the file but however and whatever it does to the file totally jacks it up where it will not display on ANY dwt file pages.... at all ,,,, ever...

For anyone who would like to know what a DWT file is....  It is a main site template format for web pages.... it has been in use for at least the last ten years or more...  It allows you to create a site page template so if you need to change colors, add an image, or change containers, boxes, tables and the like you do it on the main template page and it updates ALL the other three hundred pages at the same time....  This allows you to not have to update each individual three hundred pages manually with the same changes...

Any incite would be appreciated....  so tired of mediocrity....

OS is Server 2012

HTML Editor is Microsoft Expression Web 4

Image editor is Paint.Net

Best to all....

Note:  I was wondering in order to sign up to the forum that it takes a calculus physics rocket scientist PHD in astrophysics with a quadruple major in aeronautics design, with the addition of having a law degree to negotiate all of the greedy sneaking advertsing that is conveintly blended into the forum pages so that you can figure out where the (*&(*&( a number on a standard keyboard.... which btw NO ONE USES ANYMORE BECUASE THEY ALL USE LAPTOPS.... AND MOST IF NOT ALL LAPTOP KEYBOARDS ARE LAID OUT DIFFERENTLY FROM MANUFACTURER TO MANUFACTURER.... REALLY?  SERIOUSLY?  I don't care how old Jack is, or his older sister with a beard.  Then if you don't make the pretty *&*&*&* picture perfect.... perfectly aligned,,,,  Then you have to go through the sign up fifty more times!!!

I understand the need to deal with spammers and bots, but really?  This is insane... and still a bot can get by this....  Might want to think about upgrading the back end with typical standard security methods as this is truly amazingly outdated....

We're going to need a little more information from you in order to determine what is wrong.

What format are you saving images from paint.net (on the File > Save As screen)?

Can you zip up a sample image you've edited in paint.net that doesn't work in Expression Web 4 and post it here? (This is a family-friendly forum, please be sure that the image is family-friendly.)

As for the hoops necessary to create an account... this forum is very popular. We used to get 100 to 150 spammers per day posting dozens of threads each. With our hurdles, we're down to 1 to 2 per day. I think we'll keep them.

Are you saving images as a *.PDN? This proprietary paint.net format and is not supported in other apps. Try saving as a *.PNG or *.JPG

I wrote these questions myself. As BoltBait said they are designed to limit spam on the forum by filtering out spam bots.  The questions do require a little effort on your part to figure them out - difficult they are not.

When spam clogs up the forum I change the questions. It may not stop spammers - but it does slow them down.

BTW The staff on this forum are not paid. We are all volunteers and enthusiastic supporters of paint.net and its developer Rick. Lashing out in this fashion in your very first post is not going to gain you much...except possibly notoriety.
