Fatal error 1603

Recommended Posts

I was searching through the internet on how to open and edit .dds files but no luck so far and

and I came across paint.net and tried to install it. However, it keeps crashing and I have reading the solutions on this

forum but unfortunately all links are dead which doesn't help me at all.

I also tried Your Installer 2008 but there is no Paint.NET in the list to remove it so not helping too.

Tried to remove the folders but only found 2 folders and now am I here making a topic to inform you all links are dead

and there is nothing regarding paint.net to remove.

I tried also this:

http://forums.getpaint.net/index.php?/topic/31590-unable-to-install-paintnet/

The links aren't helping either.

Now I am stuck with this fatal error. It would a good suggestion to have it in portable format rather than an installer.

My PC is a Windows Home 64b.

Hello CTR640 - Welcome to the forum :) .

Sorry you are having trouble with the install and I'm sure one of our more experienced members will have a solution for you.  Meanwhile it may be worth reading this:

https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/mats/program_install_and_uninstall

Also (you didn't say where you downloaded PDN) be careful of downloading from strange sites.  Here is where you should download PDN:

Good Luck.

Thank you Pixey,

I've been trying for more than six months to resolve the dreaded 1603 message. Trawling the blog for similar sufferers and trying many of the possible solutions without success.

I followed your link: https://support.micr...l_and_uninstall and Windows had paint.net running again on my 8.1 OS in a matter of minutes.

Paint.net is the perfect package for novices like me so a sincere thank you to all concerned in developing and maintaining the software.

Kind regards, okedonkey :)
