A noobish way to do it would be to use the magic wand...

I reccomend using the alphamask plugin. Just load it up with no image selected (using a blank mask). Make sure that you have "Invert mask" selected, and all white goes away!

That will get rid of thw white for yah, and still leave a nicely antialiased edge to the lines.

I'm new to these forums, but not to paint.net, so all these plug-ins are extremely new to me. Anyways, i'm glad to hear theres something better than the magic wand. that thing pisses me off.
