How do I make the white area transparent?

Can anyone tell me the simplest way to make the white area of my picture transparent?

A noobish way to do it would be to use the magic wand...

I reccomend using the alphamask plugin. Just load it up with no image selected (using a blank mask). Make sure that you have "Invert mask" selected, and all white goes away!

That will get rid of thw white for yah, and still leave a nicely antialiased edge to the lines.
