Update annoyance

When I open up paint.net it is to perform a particular job. It would be exceptionally helpful to be greeted with a prompt along the lines of:

There is an update available. Would you like to download it now then install as soon as you have finished with your current session?

This would be much preferable than having to put whatever it was that I was about to do on hold or to tell it not to update now then forgetting to complete the update task until the next time I need to do something.
