How to create text box with defined boundaries as i type?

Recommended Posts

Hello,

I am new user of Paint.NET and i have to say that it looks very impressive for free software. My background is very limited to using Paint on my Windows 7 machine and i never used any other paint-type programs, so please bear with me. I am trying to create an avatar with text on top. It's just a basic avatar of size 184x184 pixels with a uniform color background and text on top. But i can't find an easy way for the text to be limited to within a defined area, since the text keeps going outside of the avatar space. Also, what are the recommended steps to creating such an avatar from scratch? Should i create a new layer before typing in the text? Thanks in advance.

Hello shark, and welcome to the forums.

You are right, you need to add a new layer for your text. It is a small area to write. If you use the text tool you can press enter to go to next line.

You can also use the text window effect made by toe_head2001:

I hope this helps.
