This plugin draws random shapes on the canvas. You can choose from 21 shape modes, and 9 color modes for both the fill and the outline, both of which can be toggled on and off. You can choose the size, transparency, number, whether or not to "corral" all of the shapes to stay in the canvas, and - of course - antialiasing.

I will consider all requests for more shape and color modes.

Great plugin. Love the many shape options. :D

Bug(?):

'Keep Inside' disregards non-rectangular selections.

Feature Request:

Add an option to keep each object separated; maybe even allow for min/max spacing.

Pyro, you are brilliant. Normally I don't comment on plugins unless there's a bug or they're absolutely brilliant (although this plugin is anyway), except this plugin savved me from having rather a lot of my teeth knocked out; Alisha, the bully I mentioned a while ago, wanted an image from me, and was threatening that she'd start on my friends if I didn't give it to her in 24 hours, so I thank you. A lot.

hi, id like to try this plugin, but whenever i start it, paint.net just hangs up and uses 100% of one cpu core.

then i have to kill the process.

im using the latest beta version of paint.net , any suggestions?

There is no beta out right now. You should be using 3.35, not a beta.

What are your specs?

What processor? (Clock, brand, cores, bits)

RAM?

OS? (Service pack?)

This is totally awesome!

I do have some suggestions though.

1. It would be nice to be able to change the thickness of the borders.

2. It would be nice to be able to change the maximum transparency.

1. It would be nice to be able to change the thickness of the borders.

You can - the borders depend on the brush width you have set in Paint.NET.

2. It would be nice to be able to change the maximum transparency.

I'll look into it.

Yes, but it can be slightly annoying to run the plugin, turn borders on, realise your brush width is wrong, close the plugin, possibly change tool, change brush width, run plugin.

If I recall correctly, Paint.NET 4.0 will have non-modal effect dialogs, so you'll be able to change the brush size without having to exit the plugin. Until then, I guess I could add a brush size slider, but right now I'm hard at work on other things, and school starts soon, so it won't happen too soon. Sorry.

Well, I hadn't noticed that so I guess it isn't that big a deal.

I do hope that we don't have to go through every decimal between 3 and 4.

I assume he refers to version numbers.

Oh. Paint.NET's version numbers. I got it.

Well it would be quite a long wait if we had to wait through every decimal between 3 and 4, considering there are infinitely many values between. A very long wait indeed.

I am a newbie (and a bit of a noob), but this is my favorite plug-in. Unfortunately, it has stopped working for me on my new laptop. I believe it is related to the fact that I now have 64-bit Vista (and 64-bit hardware). Is anyone else experiencing this? (It sounds similar to the previously reported problem.) (I apologize for my first post being a problem....I really have learned a ton around here.)

Here are the details. When I start the plug-in, it does not render any shapes and just locks up. It spikes the CPU to between 60 and 80% and I end up having to kill Paint.Net.

New hardware:

HP Pavilion

64-bit Core Duo

64-bit Vista Home Premium

4gb RAM

250gb Hard drive

I tried running in compatibility mode with Windows XP but that didn't help.

My old hardware was similar Vista Enterprise 32-bit, Dell Latitude, Core Duo, 2gb RAM, smaller hard drive (Forget the exact value).

I reinstalled it just in case it became corrupted when I copied it over to the new hardware or something, but still have the same problem. So far, no other plug in has shown an issue, but I haven't tried them all yet. I am running Paint.Net 3.36.

Could someone let me know if they are using this plug-in successfully on a 64-bit Windows Vista install and/or if there may be a problem that could perhaps be fixed? This is a completely awesome plug in and I'm very sad that it's not working!

Thanks!

Janice
