If you like that kind of combination then you might like to try this: grapes (white or black the latter are better i.m.o.) fresh home made bread and walnuts. Proceed like this: a mouthful of grapes, a bite of bread, some walnuts, repeat as may times as you like Ciao
HELEN
@ Topezia: Cool. I think others should try it, too. I'm pretty sure they might acquire a taste for it. Good idea! starryeyed
I love fried pickles. It sounds disgusting, but the pickle tastes much different when fried and breaded with proper fresh herbs and seasonings. It's just thin slices of pickles - nothing big. aww they are really good especially with ranch dressing for dipping.. But my favorite would have to be grilled peanut butter and banana sandwiches. I could eat them all day long. I first tried them in Memphis ,Tenn b/c they were on the menu at most diners there ( supposedly Elvis's favorite too) and I've been hooked ever since Quote My Gallery http://paintdotnet.forumer.com/viewtopic.php?t=26262
HELEN
@starryeyed: I heard that in some states, they fry icecream and other desserts. Did you ever try that? Kemaru
I really like to put some leftover sauce (like bolognese), on a piece of bread, some cheese on top and into a microwave oven. A really good and quick snack and a tasty way of getting rid of leftovers. If you have leftover mashed potatoes you can heat it on a pan, and throw some ketchup and/or mustard in. : ) Quote Hatred does not cease by hatred, but only by love; this is the eternal rule. |fb(page)|portfolio|blog|

HELEN
A restaurant in our town serves pizza with bearnaise sauce instead of tomato sauce. It's really tasty. I had to look up what "bearnaise sauce" was, lol. That sounds pretty good and since I'm hungry, the sauce sounds delicious alone. ZELDA GURU
Fried ice cream isn't actually fried. They take the ice cream, put some stuff on it. Set it on fire and then freeze it really quick. and you have fried ice cream.
HELEN
@Zelda: I never knew that. I always wondered how they "fried" ice cream. Very interesting. ZELDA GURU
Yep I just found that out like a month ago. Well, I'm going to eat Sushi. lol
Kemaru
I was thinking about making sushi, a local store sells everything necessary for them. I'm a vegetarian, so it's better if I make them myself as there are no japanese restaurants that serve sushi with vegetables (actually, there are no japanese restaurants at all ). Blooper
Maple syrup in milk. About 1-2 tablespoons. Hmm-hmm good. I have to admit that I like to eat watermelon with homemade bread. Yeah, that sounds weird enough, right? My grandma liked it, too. We do that back home in Morocco. I just realized I've been spelling Morocco wrong since I first wrote it. HELEN
Maple syrup in milk. About 1-2 tablespoons. Hmm-hmm good. You know what? My dad decided to try maple syrup with milk and black tea. He tried it and it became one of his favorite drinks. It's now one of the drinks I love to drink often. It's so weird how people have very similar tastes. eraser18
Zelda's post reminded me... This isn't something that I like, or have ever tried, for that matter, but once my band director was eating rice, ketchup and salsa. And another time, he was eating rice, ketchup, and soy sauce. Something to try, I guess. Quote |Eraser18's Gallery|
ZELDA GURU
lol I wish soy sauce would go with everything, then once you put soy sauce on the food item of your choice. It will turn into Sushi lol.
KellyB
I once ate a battered, deep fried Mars bar....it was....interesting! Not something I wish to repeat though I've just discovered Oreos....they're kinda new over here (where I live, at least) and they are so yummy with milk! My favourite and "speciality" is: Chicken breast, chopped bacon, diced carrots, chopped broccoli, garlic and diced onion: All cooked in a pan and then double cream added for a few minutes at the end of cooking time, to coat it. Mixed and eaten with pasta...it's yummy! A bit fattening but it has vegetables in it to cancel that out! Quote Loving Learning! Yay, a fellow veggie. One of my fave veggie dishes is....well it doesn't have a name but basically its a whole lot of spinach, beans, tomatoes, a variety of pastes and condiments and fetta cheese (sometimes more ingredients) all wrapped up in a big puff pastry log that is juts so awesome. you ca eat for days later cause theres no meat, and it tastes better every time cause the flavours soak into the pastry.....
