NEWB: Transparent layer with word in the corner

Recommended Posts

Since i'm working on my pictures to put them on a blog, i was thinking to put my email or my nickname on the lower left corner of the picture.

I dont want to do this manually every time so i thought that maybe i can do it using a layer.

How can i create and save a transparent layer with my nickname on the lower left corner?

maybe i've found, if i create a white layer, blending MULTIPLY, opacity 255 with the text in the corner, when i apply it to a picture, i get the picture with the text.

Now the question is, supposed that this process is right, in which format i save the layer?

What I would do is as follows:

Create a new file. Make it the width/height that your pictures will be.

Select all and press "Delete" on your keyboard.

Draw the text in the corner you want.

Then, save it as a .pdn file.

That's your text with a transparent background.

Now, open a picture to edit.

Then, go to the Layers menu and click on "Import From File..."

Find the file with the text, and click "Open".

If this doesn't work for you, let me know...
