Help. Need tutorials on photo retouching

I'm very, very new to paint.net.

I've been following a few tutorials.

I've downloaded effects and plug-ins.

What I was wondering, is if anyone could make any tutorials on photo retouching, or editing pictures in different ways.

I take a lot of pictures. I get bored with just the way regular digital photos look. I wanted to make them look unique, different. Like I've edited them in photoshop.

I've found a few tutorials, but not many.

Could anyone help me out?

You may want to take a look at the rules, particularly #6. That will tell you why this thread might get locked.

And to answer your question, There are many effects and adjustments that you can play with to achieve the desired result. i would recommend things like Curves+, Conditional Hue/Saturation, Shadow/Highlight Recovery for color enhancement. There are a LOT MORE out there. This will get you started, but as I'm not one that's big on photo manipulation, so maybe someone else can give you a more detailed answer.
