I have 2 problems.

1) When I install custombrush, it says I need to open it with something, but it never works.

2) When I install plugins, I extract to Paint.NET >> Effects, view my effects and they arn't there.

As for you question, could you describe how you install a brush as well as your process for installing plugins?

I have one problem and two solutions.

Problem:

1) your topic title breaks [rule=6]Rule 6[/rule] which explains that topic titles must be descriptive in order for the right user to see your problem and help more efficiently, and for a clean and organised Forum; imagine if the Forum was littered with 'help!' and 'how exactly?'. Madness it would be.

Solutions to your issues:

1) read the above posts, especially sabrown's - I'm biased towards 7-Zip, and excellent, free tool; and

2) read the following tutorials, the second of which can be found in the Plugin section:
