Ash
What type of Binding do you like for books? Wire-O, Saddle Stitch, Perfect Binding? Personally I like Perfect Binding. While we are at it, what book size do you like? http://www.cafepress.com/cp/info/sell/products/books True? Technical manuals and how-to books that need to be open wide so pages can be easily flipped usually work best with Wire-O binding. LJXD
Perfect stitch. I dont like big fat covers on big books because it aches if you have to hold it up while standing. Like when i'm waiting for my bus. If anyone reads CHERUB than thats the perfect size. It's 13cm by 20cm which is perfect for me. Rubrica
If anyone reads CHERUB Yay, I'm not the only one! Good series of books. Can't wait for the tenth. And yes, their binding is good. I equally like hard covers.
Bobofthedead
Tut tut tut... Haven't you read the warning on the back? Still, they're good books, much better than that 'orrible Alex Rider series. They're much more realistic - the characters aren't omnipotent, omniscient and benevolent at the same time in Cherub... Anyway, out of the choices on the CafePress website, I'll have to go for "Perfect Binding". Wire-O is no good to put on your lap when reading, and Saddle Stitch just looks and feels incredibly cheap - like bad textbooks. It's alright when the book is incredibly short, but other than that, it's just cheap. As for size, I don't mind. I prefer to read at home, or at school, where I'll take whatever fits into my bag. But, still, I don't really care about all that: as long as the book is good, I'll read it, no matter what size or shape. Rubrica
Tut tut tut... Haven't you read the warning on the back? Well on the edition I had, there wasn't one, and then it was too late. All the other ones have warnings though... Still, at least I'm mature enough not to make stupid jokes over some of the content.
Bobofthedead
Well, as long as you enjoy them. I'm not going to try and stop anyone reading a good book... Now PUT IT DOWN! Rubrica
Really though, apart from stuff we're not meant to learn until next year, it's not that bad.
Bobofthedead
Well, Muchamore knows what he can't print and still call it a children's book. Unless he doesn't, but his publisher does... Quote "I am the anarchist, I am the antichrist, I am the walrus, G'JOO G'GOO G'JOOB!" I dig a pygmy, by Charles Hawtree and the Deaf Aids. Rubrica
Good point, this should go in the literature thread.
Bobofthedead
Where has that slipped off to (stupid question, I know...)? When I created it, I thought it was a good idea... Rubrica
So did I! Let's find it again! I would have said that in my last post, but for some reason I decided against it.
