Kejtet
Hi! I'm sitting here writing an assignment for the university, and I'm looking for other things to do instead. So I opened my pictures folder and it is a mess. PDN among edited jpg's among raw's among unedited - you get the picture. The only way I'm keeping my photos in order is by the date i took them and which situation they are related to. I was thinking about getting a better system, but instead of doing the thinking myself I wanted to open another useless thread in the offtopics. So, how do you keep your photos in order? Have a blessed day! Kejtet
Yata
Properly name them? Quote "Only two things are infinite, the universe and human stupidity, and I'm not sure about the former" [ dA Paint.NET Chat :: Yata on dA ]
Kejtet
Heh, good one! I put them in folders with the date and name that related to the situation. But I recon I need somekind of system for the edited, I mean if one is going to save the pic as raw, pnd, jpg it's soon gonna be a mess
Mike Ryan
Click the link in my signature to the Ten Healthy Habits of Paint.NET Artists. One of them covers something I call 'Project Folders'. Just browse for that name in the Table of Contents  ;
Kejtet
T'was a good one! Thanks Also sounds like something most people would do if they were a bit more organized than me!
Dalton
I separate them into JPG's, PNG's, PDN's, etc. (I love say that word.. etcetera! ) Quote MyBB Tutorials, check out my site.
ShadowsOfTears
I started to type out how all of my images are organized, then I realized it was way too complicated, so I'll just make a tree of sorts. Blue=sub-folders Purple=sub-sub folders Red=sub-sub-sub folders My Pictures Wallpapers 3D Places Animals..you get the idea My Pics Used Avatar Sig Wallpaper Possible Use Avatar Sig Wallpaper Avatars PDN Render Sigs PDN Render Wallpaper PDN Render Misc The "used" folder is for images I've used to render the subfolders, "possible use" is images I may use for later rendering. "PDN" is for 100% PDN images, and "Render" is for images that I've rendered in PDN. Misc is for whatever else. This is pretty simplistic to me since the only program I use to render/make images is PDN. Hopefully that makes sense...Probably more so than if I typed it out in a big long spew at least. ShadowsOfTears
@ShadowOfTears: Wow.. that's.. complicated! It seems like it all laid out like that, but its not really. Its just a bit hard to describe it. Plus I'm a super neat freak about the files on my comp because I have a lot of stuff on it and I like to know exactly where it is.
