  1. Hilbert filling curve texture What's this? This is a mathematical recursive formula. Peano and Hilbert worked on these filling curves to the point to prove the graphical equation could fill an area at 100%. Read more about this on wiki: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Space-filling_curve Only Hilbert version of the curve is available. I gave a try to Peano version but I need more time to find the good way to master it. Download it! Plugin HilbertCurve.dll Here is the DLL http://jcljay.free.fr/pdn/HilbertCurve.zip
  2. @Woodsy rediscovered this excellent tutorial while archiving tuts to PDF. I was so taken with the effect I wrote a plugin to make it easier to create a very similar effect. I know this is similar to Ed Harvey's Weave, but that seems to be non-functional in PDN 4.0+ The UI: Download the DLL >> WovenPhoto94.zip After installing, you'll find it in the Effects >Texture Demos: Run it twice with different sizes for some interesting overlays...
  3. Julia “plus” texture (fractal) What's this? This effect is based on the built-in render effect Julia. It was also a sample source for the CodeLab. My version of this effect allows more things to play with. The effect works well with large images. I have tested 8000x8000 (see my DeviantArt). This is a texture plugin. It replaces the selection (or fill the active layer if no selection) as the built-in Julia. Download it! Plugin JuliaPlus.dll Here is the DLL http://jcljay.free.fr/pdn/JuliaPlus
  4. Tournesol (Sun flower seeds) texture What's this? Tournesol is the common french name of the sunflower. See the wiki for more info https://simple.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sunflower Original code / idea from: https://www.codeproject.com/Articles/650821/Fractals-in-theory-and-practice This effect uses a formula to place circles (or squares) as the seeds of this flower. Download it! Plugin Tournesol.dll Here is the DLL http://jcljay.free.fr/pdn/Tournesol.zip The MadJik's All plugins package is available! http://forums.getpaint.net/inde
  5. Color Modulo texture (tool) What's this? This effect was a bonus in the bottom list of my pack of plugins without its post till now. It’s originally a tool I made to find out how a picture is distorted/transformed by over effects (useful with Shape 3D). This plugin can effectively assist the XY Coord effect. This tool uses the color channels to create a variation (modulo) from the ranges of the sliders (mini – maxi). Red is a modulo on the x-axis, green is on the y-axis, blue is oblique. Sliders for channels are limited from 0 to 255. Th
  6. Nebulous fractal texture What's this? This effect was a bonus in the bottom list of my pack of plugins without its post till now. It’s originally a sample provided by Tom for the CodeLab. So, I wanted this to do a bit more than a single pattern, adding sliders, angle chooser etc. The effect uses a formula to fill the canvas with a colored pattern (rainbow colors). This is a texture plugin. It replaces the selection (or fill the active layer if no selection). Download it! Plugin Nebulous.dll Here
  7. Newton Fractal texture What's this? This effect was a bonus in the bottom list of my pack of plugins without its post till now. My first version of this plugin was really basic compared to the possibilities of the formula and its parameters. This last version offers much more things to play with. This texture effect fills the image (replace the original). Trying to explain how it works (I admit I have some lacks in math), the formula uses squares, cubes, powers till 9 on a matrix. Parameters A, B, C and D ar
  8. Auto Chrome Grain filler texture What's this? This effect was a bonus in the bottom list of my pack of plugins without its post till now. Autochrome is a primary method to obtain colored photos. See the wiki for more info http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Autochrome_Lumi%C3%A8re This is not to be confused with Auto Chrome Noise (work unit is pixel). https://forums.getpaint.net/index.php?showtopic=19398 This effect fills the image with grains (circles) trying to share in 3 colors Orange (25%), Green (40%) and Purple (35%).
  9. Animal texture What's this? This is a work based on this link: http://culturemath.ens.fr/contenu/dossiers.html#pelage and the PDF file to illustrate the content: http://culturemath.ens.fr/maths/pdf/analyse/vidiani_motifs_pelage_animaux.pdf (link to a PDF in French about “boring” mathematic formulas). Near the end of this document there is a small program written for Maple. I tried to adapt this code to Csharp and from bi-color to RGB. Finally, I can’t reproduce the skin of any animal as I think it should be. But some r
  10. Regular noise texture What's this? This is a texture plugin to create pseudo random noise. As it uses a formula we could expect some repeating/regular canvas. Download it! Plugin RegularNoise.dll Here is the DLL The MadJik's All plugins package is available! http://forums.getpaint.net/index.php?showtopic=7186 How to install Close Paint.net Classic version of Paint.net Unzip and (re)place the DLL in your Effect folder usually: C:/Program Files/Paint.NET/Effects
  11. Sierpinski triangle remastered What's this? If you look for Sierpinski triangle over the forum you'll find a sample for the Codelab. I tried it (in 2008 or so) and found it too light and poor. So I wanted to give a try to this sample but the project fell asleep... Recently I found another approch to the formula on this site so... This is a texture plugin. It replaces the selection (or fill the active layer if no selection). Tip: Give better results with square images 512x512 1024x1024 2048x2048 4096x4096 etc. Download it!
  12. Fractal attractor What's this? Still looking for textures and fractal generator this plugin is based on this link! The result is impressive. This is a texture plugin. It replaces the selection (or fill the active layer if no selection). Tip: Give better results with large images (5000x5000 or 4000x3000 or 3200x2400). Download it! Plugin Fractal attractor.dll Here is the DLL It will be added in the next package release... MadJik all plugins pack How to install Close Paint.net Classic ve
  13. Tartan Effects -> Texture -> Tartan Description Provides a UI to build custom tartan/plaid patterns. The left side of the UI is the builder section. The right side of the UI is what gets rendered to the canvas. The Horizontal Set & the Vertical Set get repeated. Screenshots Images have been cropped to give more desirable edges. ---> Change Log v1.5.2 (Jan 3, 2019) Fixed: Incorrect rendering for selections v1.5.1 (Sept 29, 2018) Fixed: HiDPI issues v1.5 (July 3, 2018) Added: Support for the Dark Theme
  14. Perlin Texture Plugin What's this? This plugin is added to the menu Effects, submenu Texture. It applies a formula based on the perlin noise. You could use it to create a texture and/or to distort a image. Download the DLL Plugin PerlinTexture.dll Here is the DLL Created with CodeLab... The MadJik's All plugins package is available ! http://forums.getpaint.net/index.php?showtopic=7186 How to install Close Paint.net Classic version of Paint.net Unzi
  15. Moire Texture Effect Plugin What's this? Provided in the samples with the CodeLab you could find a Moire.cs: void Render(Surface dst, Surface src, Rectangle rect) { for(int y = rect.Top; y < rect.Bottom; y++) { int v = (2 * y - dst.Height) / 2; for (int x = rect.Left; x < rect.Right; x++) { int u = (2 * x - dst.Width) / 2; byte c = Utility.ClampToByte( 128 + 127 * Math.Sin((u*u+v*v) / 100.0)); dst[x, y] = ColorBgra.FromBgr(c,c,c); } } } I've revised the code to :
  16. Rainbow twist Colors Effect Plugin What's this? This effect is an (r)evolution of the RainbowRadial.cs provided with the CodeLab. This is quite similar to the Radial Colors http://forums.getpaint.net/index.php?showtopic=7181 How does it works? The effect uses the formulas based on sinusoid curves to define and mix in a rainbow twist the three basic color Red, Green, Blue. The User interface This plugin is added to the menu Effects, submenu Texture. ...Brightness / Contrast: affect the colors .
  17. Radial Colors Effect Plugin What's this? This effect is an (r)evolution of the Radial.cs provided with the CodeLab. I took this example to test more the new possibilities offered by the version 3.20 of Paint.net, regarding 'user interface'. I've also made the Rainbow Twist in the same way http://forums.getpaint.net/index.php?showtopic=7182 How does it works? The effect uses the predefined formulas based on sinusoid curves to define and mix the three basic color Red, Green, Blue. Download the DLL
  18. Light rays Effect Plugin What's this? This is a Render Texture Effect plugin. NB: Moved from Render (too crowded) to Texture submenu. Starting from the center (that you could offset) it will draw alternated triangles as rays. It uses the Primary and Secondary colors as default and could be multi-colors from the current palette of colors. Up to you to store your palettes and load your favorite before running this effect. The brush width is used to draw the empty triangles (uncheck “Fill the rays”).
  19. Vibrato What's this? I was looking for some stuff for a new plugin when I found this site concerning SOUNDS Effect plugins. http://plugin.org.uk/ladspa-swh/docs/la ... h_sEc2.110 "The function used is z = (x - y) * (x - 1) * (x + 1) * (y - 1) * (y + 1)." So I put this formula in the codelab. And Tada! I've revised the code to have sliders per chanel of colors Red, Green, Blue except Alpha. This is a texture plugin. But it use the existing image for the result. And it doesn't work on transparent pixels. _______________________
