  1. That's funny... no other programs bomb. Sounds like an issue with this one to me. But... wow. just. wow. Guess you get what you pay for. If this is the community behind this product, I'll just find something else.
  2. Restoring to a point prior to all these issues did not work either. I tried reinstalling .net 3.5 and 2.0 and neither would install. Please, somebody help! I don't want to have to do a full reload... Please...
  3. I have tried restoring the registry. I tried installing a new .net (4.5). I even tried a Startup Restore of Windows. Still getting the error. Plus, now my anti-virus won't run either. Seriously, my PC is a brick without this program... Absolutely useless to me. Anything else I can try before resorting to yet another wipe/reformat/reload?

Been digging through the backups made during the PC cleaning, and am not finding anything that jumps out as "this should be put back" and I hate to restore the entire thing, because there were about 15,000 items cleaned out of it. Any tips or pointers or clues what to look for? Alternatively, could I install and run a portable version of Paint.net? Is there one?
  5. Ah! Thank you! And, since I had run some registry cleaners between the program working, and not... it probably is a registry problem. Now all I have to do is figure out how to fix that. eek!

I've read through what I can find in the forums, I've uninstalled/reinstalled, checked I have the files in the Paint.net and system32 directories, run the repair utility, and the program STILL crashes everytime I use "Open With" or try to save a file. It worked on Saturday, not on Sunday. The things I did inbetween that may have had an impact? I ran Advanced System Care 6, Wise Care 365 and SlimCleaner and installed The Sims 3. I need this program running, it's one of the top 5 most used programs on my PC, and is important enough that if we can't get it working through troubleshootin
