If you set the radius lower in step 23, it will look less chunky and more compact-ish. I just like this type of ring

I can make textures (grass, rock, etc.) purely out of renders/effects, meaning that I can make them as big as I want. How would I go about making these textures seamless? Edit: yay I found how

Can I magnify a selected area of a picture
OddLlama replied to tictock's topic in Paint.NET Discussion and Questions
http://forums.getpaint.net/index.php?/topic/19514-magnifier-lens-ymd100726/ There's the magnifying glass plugin I posted above, or you could do it this way: 1. Select your area 2. CTRL+X 3. CTRL+Shift+V 4. Move it around/resize it -
Ghrolt: what is the problem? How in the world could we help you if we don't know which step didn't work? NMD21: Awesome tutorial! Really easy to follow. I don't have a candle handy at the moment but I will give this tutorial a try soon.

Your images are amazing! You are a very talented artist

Realism? It's not really supposed to... look like anything

You could use a gradient to shade it. For 3D, go to the tutorial section and look under "text effects."

Awesome plugin, thanks!

Wait no. Easy way. Adjustments -> Invert Colors.

If it's black and white, then use magic wand with global fill and low tolerance and select the black. Then make a new layer and fill bucket it white. Press CTRL+D and fill the rest black.

Rectangle select tool (et al.) improvement
OddLlama replied to bEPIK's topic in Paint.NET Discussion and Questions
I have really never thought about this. That would be handy. -
Or just use 85-95% tolerance magic wand on black with global fill mode and delete. (The less plugins, the better!) Also, I found a better map. http://images2.layoutsparks.com/1/227815/black-whtie-world-map.jpg There's less detail, and it's already black and white. There is antialiasing though, so just run posterize at lowest settings once. Surprising how easy it is, too.

Fake "Download" links on http://getpaint.net

I agree with SAND33P. It might get tiring to have to keep getting rid of these types of ads. -
Fake "Download" links on http://getpaint.net
OddLlama replied to OddLlama's topic in Paint.NET Discussion and Questions
No, the point is I don't want non-forum-reading new paint.NET-ers to go and click these and then think PDN is terrible. -
Well, I just found this: http://forums.getpaint.net/index.php?/topic/9922-paintnet-misleading-advertisements-leadng-to-spyware/ I don't want new paint.NET-ers to be fooled by this sort of stuff. Probably need to re-revive that or something. So many times has a user clicked one of the advertisements that have a big "Download" button: So here are the two websites I got redirected to. http://get.zoomdownloader.com/go/downloadmanager?creative_id=mediumagg&source=google_display_zoomdownloader_US-250x250-rightbottom&subid=software&subid2=www.getpaint.net http://www.wisedownloads.com/go/pdfcreator?creative_id=mediumagg&source=google_pdfcreator-display-transparent-US-336x280&subid=software&subid2=www.getpaint.net Someone can report that or something I guess. Apparently Google will then get rid of them. DESTROY THE FAKE DOWNLOADS!!!!!!

Lol, alright all of the confusion seems to be sorting out

Add a bunch of effects at once
OddLlama replied to OddLlama's topic in Paint.NET Discussion and Questions
Oh wow that was easy Thanks! -
It's really convenient when using an effect a lot to keep pressing CTRL+F. Is there any way I can do this but with multiple effects? I was thinking there might be a way with CodeLab, but I couldn't find out how. Is there a way to do this?
-
I got so excited when I look at the recent posts and saw pyrochild in this tut. Yay! Stuck! @pdnnoob: Couldn't you posterize for this?
-
This is a sticky-worthy tut. Amazing tutorial! But couldn't you just use Posterize instead of Median-Contrast? Seems like an easier way to do it.

Just amazing program - I nearly bought Photoshop
OddLlama replied to himagain's topic in Paint.NET Discussion and Questions
Lol that sound funny Anyway, I just think it's amazing that he could make pretty much a better version of Photoshop (which was made by Adobe, a huge company, and costs a TON) by himself and give it away for free! I'm going to donate to him soon, I feel ashamed for not having got around to it yet
