  1. Hey Helen and thanks! The car models are prebuilt but are fully skinnable as are all the graphics in the game called "Live For Speed". I've changed nearly everything from the cars to the menus to the drivers themselves and created all the textures and logos mostly from scratch. I will upload a few examples to show the differences later on when I have more free time. The cursors I made are indeed for Windows. They come in ".cur" format which is the windows cursor extension and the clock is an ".ani" or animated cursor. I made a zip file package containing everything including the PDN file that I used as the template which I can send if you'd like. It's not too hard to create although if you do it from scratch, you'll have to know where the cursor you're creating is positioned in relation to the action it's used for. I've always had a thing for customizing icons, cursors, user interfaces, wallpapers, themes, and other stuff. It's an addiction I can't kick. lol
  2. heh heh just came to check out the work as it's a popular post! great work on the spheres / globes Sasha! I have to learn that as well at some point to do the sky files for a game as it wraps an image around the top and sides of the environment.
  3. lol must be a busy week xD btw Drew I agree with scooter and love the reflection on the text that looks like clouds, very creative and adds depth!
  4. Special thanks to EER for all the help and support! You rock dude! I haven't had much time to create stuff lately due to work however I do usually make time for game design, especially with Paint.net and DDS files. 5. Both NinjaManDan & Xzerizon have great entries. Dan's is one of the most detailed sig's I've ever seen! I had to go with Xzeri's as the futuristic metallic look plus the 3-dimensional letters adding depth to the sig really won me over! Great job you two! NinjaManDan - 0 Xzerizon - 3 Xzerizon is the winner of this round of Sig Battles! To start off the next round, I would like to toss this into the battle and wish good luck to the challenger! (edit: minor revision)
  6. 2 words sums it up, "epic win!" - Thanks again BoltBait!
  7. I've encountered this before, it was due to the way the file was saved as the file type and extension I used were not the same. Try changing the extension to something else and eventually it will open as long as it's not corrupted.
  8. Before installing Paint.net, right-click the mouse on the installer file and pick "Properties" then select "Compatibilty Mode" and try an earlier version of Windows such as XP SP3. Also make sure "Run As Administrator" is checked as that could also prevent PDN from installing properly. Hope it helps!
  9. It really depends on the angle and the time of day as clouds are hard to do in some cases like sunsets or sunrises when there are multiple hues. (It's a result of light having to travel a greater distance through our atmosphere and hitting it on it's side) If you want to do clouds in the daytime, it's much easier as it's shades of gray to white. Think of it as a white blob accented by darker grey areas which would be the shaded parts of the cloud giving it a 3 dimensional look. Also clouds don't have bulges in uniformity, the bottom of of a cloud is often more flat than the upper portions when viewed from the side. If you view the cloud from the bottom, you see it more as a large slightly greyish blob accented by white parts that face the sun. I just use the distortion filters with a normal brush to splatter on color and gausian blur it very slightly. To finish it off, I'll smudge it a bit with pressure set to 7 as too much pressure will leave streaks. Once it looks a bit like scrambled eggs but white in color, that's pretty much it! Hope it helps!
  10. lol man where is everyone? Well I can't vote but I think your sig is awesome Skull! The depth it has makes the image look 3 dimensional.
  11. Thanks EER! I checked it out and I think what I had in mind is just not possible, an plotted section cutter similar to Gimp's path tool. As it can't cut or make the selected area transparent, perhaps I can try a different approach from those 2 ideas and try an area-to-fill but I'm not sure if a plotted path is even possible to do as an effect. Something like this:
  12. Nice tutorial Copy Cat Master! Definitely takes effort to create them and shows you're the helpful type. Right on! lol uh oh Ninja, I hope EER doesn't find that post we made on midget strippers. LOL I'm totally kidding EER don't ban me bro!!!
  13. Congrats to Sasha! Man ya'll gave me some epic ideas on logos I need to make for work! haha right on I owe ya'll a pizza or something... After a bit of toying with stuff and NN mentioning plate screws, this entry is what I came up with... Good luck to the challenger! lol is that not the cutest emote or what xD edit - due to wrong dimension posted, derp
  14. I doubt it can be fixed easily as I tried to save the image and crop it using Benetton Movie Maker to see if it could be done, it opens as 1 single frame no matter which extension is used including gif. Hopefully someone can help figure out a way Talon, good luck!
  15. heh heh nah Skull no worries mate! I edited mine a few times and it still was too bright that it actually hurt my eyes. I was sort of 50/50 on whether I should even enter it as it had strayed from my original concept. This is a tough call indeed, both have great elements I like, metal textures, reflective surfaces, and shadows. The nicely defined line on Sashas that highlight the upper-left portions of the text is one of my favs that I use quite often! Red Ochre's use of reflection along with earth-toned colors really brought out the depth in that image. For that I had to choose Red's but this was a very tough choice by the slimmest of margins as both are really great pieces! Excellent job you two! sashwilko - 1 Red ochre - 1
  16. Yeah even i was like omg its a bit bright and edited it however to spare everyone from going blind i must withdraw my entry and declare sasha the winner. Lol and ill message you some tips and stuff when im back on my computer as im on my android atm. the show must go on so the next battlers are up! Good luck to all and great work btw sasha! Lol
  17. No worries, you've got the right source (google) just not the right search criteria.... do a google search for "Face Accessories, Manycam" then click "images". You'll find exactly what you're looking for and more.
  18. NinjaMan's and Daniel's both look great and definitely took some time to create. I had to go with Ninjaman's just for the depth and realism aspects as it really does give a sort of gloomy and isolated feeling which totally matched the theme of that sig. Great job you guys! NMD - 3 Daniel -1 NinjaMan wins this round of the Siggy battle competition, Congrats! ...and now I shall chuck this into the battle just because I am a huge fan of the matrix effect and Dan seems to be as well! lol So I challenge with this... ummmmmm... matrix looking... thingy.... lol sorry it was thrown together to match my avatar tbh. :$ note: edited to tone down the brightness to avoid killing anyones eyes like it did mine.... Entry forfeited ... Still too bright. Sasha wins by default! Congrats lol
  19. Sorry to hear that, I hate when that happens as well. I click save like every 2 or 3 actions now just to be safe lol.
  20. This question comes up quite often. I've found that creating a few additional layers and adjusting the color saturation & contrast will allow you to get a more defined area for the magic wand to work with in a minute or two. hopefully it helps!
  21. lol well there goes my idea There is an alternate method to what I have in mind however there are a few plug ins that already exist and sort of relate to it, just nothing I've seen that does exactly what I had in mind. Thanks though for the info guys, I'll do a bit more research on it.
  22. This sounds similar to an issue I had before when I was customizing my themes. Did you by any chance change / modify your windows menu color settings in Display Properties? If yes, by setting it back to the color it was or to the default setting, it fixes the problem. Hopefully it helps! (click to enlarge)
  23. Is there a list or examples of the actions in Paint.net similar to the composite effects list / effects examples that were given such as "gaussian blur", "emboss", "add noise", etc. ? In particular things like "cut selection", "copy selection", "delete selection", and "paste selection" is what I'm trying to find or is that something completely different? I know that copying and such are actions and emboss and whatnot are effects but I can't find any examples which explains how to use actions, or maybe I just missed / overlooked them.
  24. Awesome work on the current sig Minners! (The one with the 3 modules connected by tubes) That totally inspired one I'm about to create!!!
  25. I LOVE IT!!! lol it lights up blue over text areas and lights up green for links I can click rather than changing to all these different symbols and hand gestures!!! My semi-OCD side is appeased rofl.
