Everytime I enlarge a pic that is originally pixelated, it turns out uneven, glossy, and transparent around the sides. Anyway to just double size by like 1.5 or 2 easily?

Is there ANYWAY to make a whole single color (without attaching to other colors that are not that color) turn transparent?
