I just downloaded paint.net and I've been editing this picture for a solid 4 hours now, with probably 8 more hours to go. During my progress I've saved "Character Sheet 1.1", "Character Sheet 1.2", & "Character Sheet 1.3". I open up a new picture b/c I need to work on something different for a minute to clear my head, & then I come back to open my original picture & I get a "The image file is not recognized and cannot be opened." The "Open recent" option shows a picture preview of my 3 saved files but they give the same error message. It seems that Paint.net didn't add a file extension when I was backing up my work. When I was saving the file all I remember was that it asked me what quality I wanted to save my picture & I selected 32bit. I'm thoroughly unhappy about losing all the time I've spent on this project because I've been trying to put time aside for it for several weeks now. My first question is; HOW DOES A PICTURE EDITING PROGRAM SAVE A FILE THAT IT WON'T RECOGNIZE LATER??? And my second question is; how can I fix this? I've tried adding a file extension to no avail. I've tried opening it with gimp, windows paint (xp) & open office drawer. All with no luck. The attached file is the first of three your program created somehow... except that "Error You aren't permitted to upload this kind of file" A timely reply would be infinately appreciated, as I need to have it completed by next week.
