7 SP1 to clarify, it's not in the list of uninstallible programs you're thinking of. only in the add/remove services menu.

ok, how much fo you know about .NET Framework? cuz now i'm trying to install 3.5 over - downloaded it but when i run it, nothing happens. i clueless.

d'oh. chkdsk didn't find any problems,

.net framework has no repair option. i can either check it, or uncheck it. i unchecked it (removed it) then put it back. still having problems (with lots of things). am running chkdsk now...

i didn't know that it was broken/need to. nor do i know how. perhaps someday, someone that works on this thing will give some insight.

for a few days, kept getting it would feeze up and throw "paint.net frontend has stopped working". ok. fine. uninstall then reinstall, but.... "paint.net setup frontend has stopped working". <headdesk> what gives?
