  1. Thanks Welshblue and Yellowman. The leaf tutorial is excellent. If someone would explain how to do the bamboo that would be great. SC
  2. Has anyone done a tutorial on how to make bamboo, including the leaf, similar to the image below? Thanks, SC
  3. Thanks Jim! I tried cleaning it up and using the elliptical blur trick for the bottom shadow. I can definitely see an improvement with each iteration. Thanks again, SC
  4. Thanks Ella, you're the best. I appreciate you taking the time to help. SC
  5. Jim, Thanks. I played around with the drop shadow plugin and did get a better outcome. Any other suggestions for improvement. Is the shadow too large or off to the right too much?
  6. Thanks Jim. I was actually using the drop shadow plugin, but couldn't get it to look like Ella's, so I thought that she had another trick up her sleeve. I'll keep trying to see if I can get it to look more polished. Thanks again, SC
  7. Ella, What a great tutorial. Easy enough that even I could follow it. This is exactly what I had in mind Thank you very much. Here's my first attempt. I couldn't figure out the shadowing, would you mind explaining? If anyone has any other tips, please chime in. Thanks again Ella, and Welshblue and Yellowman as well.
  8. Hi EER, I was looking to make the zen stones from scratch. I'd like to make individual stones and stack them however I like. I bought your e-book last night, but haven't had time to read it yet. For those that don't have a Kindle, you can download the free Kindle for PC reader. Thanks for your help. SC
  9. I've searched to no avail. Is there a tutorial on making zen stones? Thanks for your help. I posted a picture, but would prefer the shiny black stones.

Thanks for the tutorial. To clarify a few things, as others have pointed out, the "Water Reflection" plugin is the updated version of the "Water" plugin. Also, after following step eight, "8. Add New Lyayer---Move Layer down---fill layer with color of the ocean.", you must then select the background layer of the clouds and then apply the "Water Reflection" plugin.
  11. Thanks Rick. You inspired me to download a macro creating app and have a go at it. I wound up just recording my mouse movements. Now I can toggle the click-lock on and off in any program simply by shaking the mouse back and forth horizontally. It's a little crude but works satisfactorily. SC
  12. Speaking of screenshots, Windows 7 has a built-in app that's a bit more powerful than just hitting the Prt Scr key. The program is named Snipping Tool. To locate the app do a search for it in Windows Help and Support. The app can be pinned to your Taskbar for easy access. The following is from the Help File: Use Snipping Tool to capture screen shots You can use Snipping Tool to capture a screen shot, or snip, of any object on your screen, and then annotate, save, or share the image. You can capture any of the following types of snips: Free-form Snip. Draw a free-form shape around an object. Rectangular Snip. Drag the cursor around an object to form a rectangle. Window Snip. Select a window, such as a browser window or dialog box, that you want to capture. Full-screen Snip. Capture the entire screen. After you capture a snip, it's automatically copied to the Clipboard and the mark-up window. From the mark-up window, you can annotate, save, or share the snip. SC
  13. tryan225, I'm glad to hear that it worked out for your friend. It would be nice if this feature was built into Paint.net so that, like you mentioned above, it could be turned on or off at will as sometimes I would rather have the feature turned off, especially while surfing the net. SC
  14. tryan225, Glad to help. It may be more of a mouse "driver" issue rather than OS dependent, so I'm sure you'll find a work-around either way. SC
  15. tryan225, Assuming your friend has Windows 7. Right click on your desktop. Click on "Personalize", "Change mouse pointers". Select the "Buttons" tab and at the bottom of the dialog box check "Turn on ClickLock". Click on Apply and Ok. This will work throughout all Windows programs. SC
  16. Ed, Many, many thanks! Thank you for your great plug-ins. SC
  17. barbieq25, Since you have the Dents Classic plug-in, would you mind uploading the .dll to a hosting site or possibly this site, to help us needy poor souls? It would be very much appreciated. SC
  18. Ash, Would you mind giving some updated settings that would work with this tutorial using the non-"classic" version of dents? Many thanks, SC
  19. Is this a dead issue or is there no possibility of getting the Dents 'Classic' plugin?
  20. Andreas, The on-screen text would certainly be beneficial. Many thanks, SC
  21. Andreas, My learning style prefers a tutorial in which the author speaks out each step in addition to visually seeing each step performed. Best regards, SC
