  1. OK tried AlphaSpace and so far it seems to be working brilliantly !!! Thanks to all for the assistance. Cheers, Peter M
  2. Thanks again for the suggestion, but I've tried Grim Color Reaper and that doesn't seem to work either. I probably should have added that the original images are .jpg so the existing dither to white is with color only and not transparency. As an example one of the logos is a large red '7' on a white background. Getting rid of the backgound leaves dither to white on the diagonals. Feather did a great job with changing this to a dither using transparency. Grim Color Reaper didn't seem to work on this one at all as the diagonals looked terrible when put over the dark backgound. Again I must emphasise that these are small images and so the dither on diagonals is critical to having them look sharp at 100%. Should I post a couple of the images ? Cheers, Peter M
  3. Thanks very much for the replies and suggestions. I downloaded BoltBait's plugins and feather worked brilliantly for some, not so well for others. I now realise that every logo will require a different approach. As I work through them, hopefully experience should help me to decide the best method for each. It's going to be a long process !! Cheers, Peter M
  4. Hi All, Been using Paint.NET for years, but mainly very simple stuff all revolving around making buttons for various touch screen remotes I've had over the years. I'm now doing a whole new set of buttons for an iPad app I'm using and one thing's got me stuck. I've downloaded a bunch of TV channel logos (130 x 90) and I want to put them on buttons. The logos all have white backgrounds, but my buttons are dark grey. I can get rid of the white backgound no problem using the magic wand, but that leaves me with the dither to white around the image, and when I put this onto the dark backgound it looks terrible. The dither seems very important due to the small image size. I guess what I'm trying to do is change a 'dither to white' to a 'dither to dark grey'. How do I do this ? Apologies if I've got the terminology wrong ... I hope my intent is clear. Cheers, Peter M
