i dont know if this is where to do this but i've run out of options and don't know who to ask or even how to describe this problem but here goes...i have a picture of a person and i moved the person from the original picture and background into another background. when i imported the second background and put the two together, the person was in the new background but they both were up in the left hand corner of the screen and very small. i've tried everything i know to get them back into the middle of the screen but no luck. i'm sure i mast have clicked on some button that i shouldn't have but i can not for the life of me figure out what it was. i can not go forward with pdn as long as this problem exists and the work i have to do is standing still instead of progressing. no doubt this is a small problem but not to me. hey...i can hear you laughing all the way from here....lol. please respond to this and help me out...STONEPLANET

Now I'm having another problem; I saved the picture I made in what I thought was my ''pictures'' but then when I go there to open it an look at it, it comes up in PDN. How do I remove it from PDN and still keep the picture?

YELLOWMAN.....I tried this and it works great; your instructions were right on the mark and I am now trying to ajust the color in my model to match the colors in the background a little better. This may prove to be a bit of a challenge also but well worth the battle. Thanks for your help and I'm sorry to have been so lean on the understanding part but I guess it takes a little more for some of us to get it...anyway, it's a start. STONEPLANET777

SketchUcation.....been there, done that. It's cool and I do use it but PDN has its own little set of rules and instructions so I'm more likely to find the answers that I need right here if the questions have anything to do with PAINT NET. The thing is...I'm working with three different programs right now...sketchup, podium v2 and pdn. Each of these programs have their own little quirks and each one has to be compatable with the others for certain tasks. Forgive the shouting, if you will. There is no luck; there is learning,knowing, doing and eventually....perfection. STONEPLANET777

THANK YOU!!! Yes, I think this is what will work and I really appreciate the pictures and how you went through it step by step...it feels complete. I really didn't know what to expect from this program as far as manipulating a forground or a background because I have never worked in an image editor program before this and I didn't know what would be possible. I downloaded a trial version of IRENDER NXT a few months ago and I don't know if you're familiar with that rendering program but there is a system inside of it that allows you to add forground and back ground almost seamlessly. It can be adjusted in every way and it's all done right inside of sketchup. You just grab the jpg photo or picture from your files and it automatically falls in back of your model and then you adjust the perspective, size or whatever. After that you render all of it together and it's done. There's no transparancy this or that...it's just simple and clean. However, having said all of that, I do realize that PDN has many other cool functions and I'm looking forward to learning as much of it as I can. Again...thanks for your help with my small problem. YES...SKETCHUP IS COMPLICATED BUT I HAD NOWHERE NEAR THE TROUBLE WITH THAT AS MUCH AS I'M HAVING WITH THIS. I'M TRYING TO PUT BACKGROUNDS IN MY LANDSCAPE MODELS BUT CAN'T GET AN ACCURATE TUTORIAL OF WHAT I'M SUPPOSE TO DO TO ACCOMPLISH THE TASK. I'VE HAD 3 REPLIES TO MY POSTS AND ALL OF THEM WERE SO VAGUE THAT I COULDN'T EVEN BEGIN TO MAKE THEM WORK. I DON'T UNDERSTAND WHY PEOPLE CAN'T JUST TELL SOMEONE ALL OF THE STEPS TO DO A THING. TO THEM IT'S AN EASY THING TO DO BUT TO ME IT'S COMPLEX AS HELL...THIS IS THE FIRST THING I'VE TRIED TO DO WITHIN THIS PROGRAM AND I'VE BEEN TRYING FOR 6 DAYS WITHOUT ANY SUCCESS. All I could think about was all it would eventually do for my art projects if I could just figure it out. Now there is THIS and I need it for that same reason.Anything can be learned and I would eventually figure it out with or without help but I'd much rather it be now that 10 months from now. i have been using sketchup now for about a year but as you know, the models are never really complete without a background in them. there are ways right in sketchup to add a backgroung but they cant be rendered because the background disappears and leaves only the rendered model. i downloaded gimp to see if i could add a background there but the instructions are so vague that there's just no way i can understand what they are talking about. i know nothing about transparent backgrounds or what it has to do with adding a simple jpg photo background to my model. the more you people try to explain in your ''image editor terms'', the farther away from understanding i get. i know for a fact that there are hundreds of people out there who feel exactly what i'm feeling but they don't want to appear to be idiots so they clam up and so then these questions are never asked and these statements are never made and consequently, you people just on talking in some other vague language that very few beginners can possibly relate to. i just want a simple instructive path as to how to bring a picture to the clipboard and then bring a background picture into that first picture, blend them togeather and have a finished scene. is that a lot to ask? if you want people to use your product, then find a way to speak to them so that they can understand what the hell you're talking about. i do realize that there are those people out there who fully ''get it''...but for every one of that do, there are 50 more that do not. stoneplanet777
