  1. Helen, I'm absolutely in love with your new avatar and sig! Queen of Paint.NET indeed!
  2. Just wanted to tell everyone thanks for all of your kind words in regard to my gallery. Unfortunately, you won't be seeing any new works from me anytime soon. My bills are swallowing up my income and I'm losing my internet for a while. Hopefully it won't be for long, but I really can't say for sure. I really enjoy the camaraderie on this site. Everyone has been so very helpful and respectful. I really feel like I'm among friends when I'm here and I'm going to seriously miss you guys. I have nothing but the utmost respect for all of you. Guess there's really not much more to say except, take care, be good and I'll catch ya on the flip side! This is RedBeard, signing off.
  3. Again, BBQ, you amaze me with your style and execution! Derngate definitely sets a dark tone for me. It's as if the bars in the foreground are restricting access to the beauty beyond. Glass Daisies is wonderful! Your composition and use of color contrasted with the dark background is second to none. Ebony Rose is fantastic. It gives a sense of movement, as if the rose is moving rapidly and taking the viewer with it. Deco is another wonderful piece. I love the colors! It has an almost Egyptian look to it, which is awesome. I'm loving these new works! You definitely have a style all your own and I always look forward to seeing what you're going to create next!
  4. "Wow" is right, delpart! That rose is AMAZING! Whenever you find the time, some tutorials from you are definitely in order, rockandroll!
  5. Dynojuggler, that is absolutely KILLER! I love it!
  6. I'm loving your works, HELEN. Starry Hoops is an absolutely lovely piece, with lots to guide the eye around. And you are a master at rendering shiny things! Lonely Orb for some reason looks to me like it would be right at home on an old Journey album cover. I love the contrast between the orange the blue, almost like a conflict between fire and ice. Both strong pieces in an impressive gallery.
  7. Man! The fruit is AWESOME!!!! Kinda makes me hungry! I'm with everyone else: I'd be very interested in a tutorial on how you achieved such realism. Keep 'em coming, rockandroll! Each new work is a feast for the eyes!
  8. I couldn't resist! http://i218.photobucket.com/albums/cc182/1stBass/ANewTwistonHamlet.png
  9. The only other thing I would suggest would be Anti-Aliasing and possibly some mild feathering on the buildings where you cut out the sky. AA and Feather are your best friends. Other than that, this is a brilliant composition, Jim!
  10. That's pretty awesome! I'd be interested to know how you achieved the fur effect. The eyes are really well done. Very life-like. I didn't see the picture before you colored the ears. If this is any indication, I think you're going to be one to watch! Nicely done!
  11. Nice work, Jim! The shadow under the man really gives him a sense of depth and weight. As far as his height, maybe he's just a really tall guy! Overall, I think you did a fantastic job!
  12. This is actually what I'm going for. I just have to figure out the right program to use that doesn't cost me an arm and a leg! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZSIHy0AUAXg
  13. Glad you enjoyed it, BBQ. The difference in focus was an accident, a result of scaling the picture down and stepping it back up with each frame. Once I got to a certain stage, I imported the file again to clear it up. This is actually a trial for me. I'm wanting to do a motion comic of an original story and I'm exploring my options. I'm not sure the GIF animator I used here is suitable for what I have in mind, though.
  14. http://i218.photobucket.com/albums/cc182/1stBass/ANiceMorningFlight-1.gif Just for laughs.
  15. Pretty cool gallery! I'm digging the Master Chief sig, and Spider Man turned out splendidly!
  16. These are my favorites, in no particular order: http://i43.photobucket.com/albums/e392/mountnman/my%20graphics/eclipse1.png Eclipse reminds me of the movie Pitch Black. I can see the sky going dark and a sense of dread setting in. Very nice! http://i43.photobucket.com/albums/e392/mountnman/my%20graphics/OHCRAP.png This one gives a sense of urgency and the title is very fitting. "Oh, bloody potato!" is right! http://i43.photobucket.com/albums/e392/mountnman/my%20graphics/0011.png For some reason, this one puts me in mind of the chamber in a revolver. The colors are just awesome! Overall, you've got a strong gallery here. I'm diggin' it!
  17. Okay, I'm really digging all of your work, but I'm particularly fond of "Complex Geometry Realm". Maybe because when I look at it, I think of Tron, which is one of my favorite movies. Keep 'em coming, sir. I look forward to seeing more.
  18. http://i562.photobucket.com/albums/ss69/sargon2/pdn/neverflied.jpg This is completely awesome! My fiancee and I have recently been turned onto steampunk, so every time I see something in that vein, I take notice. Nicely done, sir! So much intricate work involved. Your patience must be profound. Can't quibble with the results, that's for sure. http://i562.photobucket.com/albums/ss69/sargon2/realistic/fonograf.jpg This is an exquisite piece of work. I'd be interested to know what tools you used to achieve the textures, as well as the shape of the horn. All in all, your gallery is most impressive, Yellowman. I'm anxious to see more.
  19. Wow! That is freakin' awesome! How did you do that exactly? Is there maybe a tut in the works?
  20. Thank you, Welsh! Hmmm.....fiancee. I knew I was spelling that wrong!
  21. Never hesitate to point out something you see, delpart. Those honest critiques are invaluable to the learning process.
  22. Spill, Strange Fruit and Painted Bird are quite impressive. I'm particularly fond of your attention to detail, namely the rim stain on the cup in Spill. And your use of color in the other two is absolutely delightful. I'm guessing these were rendered completely in PDN, in which case they're even more impressive. I have a hard time "drawing" in PDN. Most times I end up drawing on paper and then scanning and manipulating in PDN, so to see something drawn from start to finish using the program is quite impressive to me. Country living is another fine example of your surrealist sensibilities. Actually, my house feels like that sometimes!
  23. This is my try. I call it, "Multiplicity--aka, Talking To Myself" http://i218.photobucket.com/albums/cc182/1stBass/Multiplicity-3.png
