Whoa Minners, How'd you do that? Yours has it with the cleverness factor.
Welshblue, It's an optical illusion, I can see this standing on edge or as a platter.

That was an ongoing comp. the host had left, but Nitenurse71 has taken over. SOTW is now open for entries and the theme is Seasons.
I like abstractions too, but really, I think that it would be to hard to choose a best.
Have looked at the images in the Image Umbrella: Abstract Images? There is such a variety I could not pick a best out of any of them.
There are a couple of competitions that seemed to have stalled out, so good luck starting a new one.
Good topic. I'm new to the comps so I think the more the merrier.
Jesusboy, splatter opens to the screen size that you have set. Use the scroll bars at the right and bottom in the splatter canvas to splatter the whole image.
Your sig looks good to me.
Gonna have to try this tut myself.
Minners, a lot work must of went into your pixel images, the shadow behind the letters don't need to be there...
Rafroller, you have a tight composition. Colors, font, like it a lot.

I got it fairly well with Find Edges found in the Artistic file. Move the slider down to about 10. Then go to Adjustments and choose Invert Colors. From there It should be an easy thing to hand paint your image.
Hope this works for you.
Welshblue, I get a similar feeling looking at your image as I felt, as a kid, looking down into a deep water well.
Not scary; mysterious.
Xhin, I think you captured the dynamic trio perfectly. Nice imaging.
Hello, I found your Post Cards From Mars on DA. Nice, I like that they are abstract; it leaves the imagination of the viewer intact and not cluttered with literal interpretation. And, I also liked that you quoted from The Martian Chronicles, which gave the images substance without giving anything away. I hope that the people seeing your post cards will want to read the book.
Thank you.
