  1. I quoted where the brushes are installed to. Go to that folder to delete the brushes themselves. The brushes aren't in the effects folder. My Documents\Paint.NET\User Files\Custom Brushes
  2. It seems that to get rid of them, you would go to that same folder where you put them initially and delete the ones that you don't want. http://forums.getpaint.net/index.php?/topic/18959-how-to-use-custombrushesmini-v19/ "What do I do next? Open up Paint.NET. This should create a folder in My Documents\Paint.NET User Files called "Custom Brushes". This is where your custom brushes files will be stored."
  3. I agree w/pdnnoob. The issue as you describe it clearly indicates that you haven't de-selected - but the direct answer to your question is of course you can copy and paste from one to another and maintain the original colors - you can see this to be true if you peruse through some of the tutorials on the forum. The alternative to the button as pdnnoob pointed out is to press the escape key. You can also just click on the open area outside of the actual canvas to de-select. EDIT: EER makes a good point. If you're selecting the picture you wish to copy and then pressing the "Prt Scrn" key, you are essentially doing a screen capture. The proper method would be select the image and then to press "Ctrl" = "C" (C=copy. Then return to the canvas where you wish to paste your selection and simply press "Ctrl" + "V". After it's been pasted, deselect using one of the methods described above.
  4. I definitely like the re-worked version better than the original. For my taste, I think it's much cleaner and appealing.
  5. I love it. Just looking at the picture as a whole with the white glow spots, makes me feel like I'm anticipating something more to occur at any moment.
  6. http://forums.getpaint.net/index.php?showtopic=2940 If you're looking for a release date, I don't think there is one specifically. Remember, there is only 1 individual who is the developer (Rick Brewster), so a release isn't going to be as quickly as if there were a team of individuals working on different aspects of it. Rick also has a blog here that may help to keep you informed: http://blog.getpaint.net/
  7. A quick note: "11) Don't reply to very old threads. Also known as "reviving" or "resuscitating" old/dead threads. Also called "necroposting" (eww). If there has been no discussion in a thread for, say, 3 months ... then it is dead. Do not reply to it -- pretend like it is locked. If you reply to it, then the thread will be immediately locked and your post may be deleted. Please just create a new thread if you have something to say about that subject." But, to indirectly answer your question, you're free to search the plugins index here: http://forums.getpaint.net/index.php?/topic/15260-plugin-index/
  8. I use a similar method when I want a square/rectangle area erased. When I've erased a portion, I then select within that space a rectanglular/square area and copy and then paste. Once the paste is done move it to another area and if need be, resize it. It's not an eraser per se, but it works equally well. EDIT: Here's an image of what I've described above:
  9. Start out with a filled circle and reshape using the liquify plugin found here: http://forums.getpaint.net/index.php?showtopic=20688
  10. Well ladies, for my part it's not an issue of not wanting to. Things have been extremely busy lately at work, so w/the exception of a few periodic replies to threads here and there via my phone during break @ work, I haven't had much of an opportunity to do much w/PDN. With a 3-day weekend before me, maybe I can do something, but am uncertain right now.
  11. How is your ink supply holding up? The output quality could be because your low on a certain color and it could also be because you have a cheap printer (you never mentioned the make & model).
  12. I like the balloon one. Very cool.
  13. Minners, I really hope you can manage some way to get a new machine! I feel real bad for you.
  14. No, I didn't mean to imply that you were bothered by it (I'm sorry if that's how I came across), I was just making a generalized comment based on Welsh's and Minner's comments:
  15. Congratulations Yellow man. Simple and effective!
  16. Those lines were originally smooth and they were added after the fact. They appeared too dark though and so I attempted to select the lines and adjust the brightness/contrast and ended up with the jagged lines because I couldn't quite get the right tolerance. I'm indifferent though about how I feel about them being jagged. They don't seem to bother me, but then again if they came out like I had originally intended, I think I would feel the same way (I mean they looked fine initially except that they were too dark).
  17. Nice work, I really like the first one above the others.
  18. Here's my most recent (competition) submission. Just basic tools, no AA, no blurs, no smudges, etc. Source Picture: http://www.mustangdr...angs%201965.JPG
  19. Here's my piece. No blurs, smudges, liquifies, etc. Just standard tools. Source: http://www.mustangdr...angs%201965.JPG
  20. Gentlemen (pdnnoob & Xzeri), The only thing that I was trying to point out is that I believe PDN has a lot more to offer than you believe it does (at least that's how I've interpreted what I read from you). The point in showing Welsh's images was to demonstrate the level of detail that he has been able to accomplish w/PDN alone - detail that I think you'll need for a great looking piece. At any rate Xzeri, I wish you luck and success with it.
  21. Is this the sort of result that you're striving for? I did this one using 2 layers. Bottom layer colored Top layer Black and White Erase everything you want to remain in color from the black and white If it's too white (as I thought mine was originally), double click in the Layer's Pane for the top layer picture and adjust the transparency so some of the bottom colored layer shows through.
  22. I don't think you're giving the program the credit it deserves... Make your way around to some of the galleries that folks have and see the amount of detail that some of the work have. The pictures below are from WelshBlue's gallery: http://i616.photobucket.com/albums/tt241/WelshsPlace/Space%201/cargo.png http://i616.photobucket.com/albums/tt241/WelshsPlace/Realistic%201/MetalFatgue.jpg I think the above are excellent examples of what you can accomplish w/PDN alone and demonstrate that it is possible but will be a very extensive undertaking.
  23. ...is this to say that if he doesn't sell it he can claim it as his own???
  24. Paint.net uses the system's fonts. There's no way around it, you'll have to get permission at school to install the fonts on their computers. EDIT: These are the settings that you can make adjustments to in Paint.NET: Sorry I wasn't able to post this image earlier, Photobucket was having login issues. EDIT: Fixed grammar.
