  1. We are re-purposing an old laptop for my daughter. She loves to use MSPaint. I would like to find an alternate program for her to use that isn't geared for 4 year olds. Preferably something with layering capability. In my search, I have found a handful of programs that will not install on the old WinME laptop. The only one I could get to install was the aforementioned toddler-based software. She is 8 I found a copy of "PaintDotNet_2_72". The website (can't remember where that was at the moment) said that it supported WinME. I couldn't get it to install. I just looked at FileHippo (http://www.filehippo....net/tech/1510/) and not a single version, all the way back to Paint.NET 2.1b Released: 18 Aug 2005, says it supports WinME. Eventually we will upgrade her to a newer laptop of her own. But until we can afford to do that, we need another alternative. If there is a version of Paint.net that works, please let me know. If anyone knows of some other free alternative, please guide me in that direction. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
