  3. Cheers dug,got 2 more entries coming up 'Olympic' & 'Browser'
  4. Big hug back at ya, have noticed your absence and I hope it has been for nice reasons.
  5. @Helen and Jim, unfortunately I don't have the funds at the moment for a new PC @Red, No I don't but I will soon although blurs are the least of my worries most plug ins or effects take 1-2 minutes to even open up yet alone use and resizing is another very slow process, some times so slow that my PC just freezes and becomes unresponsive. here is a snap shot of my beast of a machine.
  6. Thanks for stopping by Yellowman,Sharp,Nanette,Helen and barbieq and I will read through that info you linked to Sharp and see if it helps Not sure if anyone has noticed but I started to change my sig weekly ( every Monday ) thought it would help me be more creative and it has ( I now have about 20 sigs and avi combos waiting in the wings ) I am also trying to do some larger works but having such an ancient computer does not help took me 25 mins the other day to apply a gaussian blur to a 1920 x 1080 image
  7. @ quertyuu I updated my avatar a couple of days ago with no problems but mine was 120 x 120 so try a smaller one perhaps @jim glad I'm not the only one that gets that problem with photobucket
  8. Great pieces Dug ,not sure if I have commented on your work before if not I apologise, you have a real out there style. The top 4 I could see as art work for Pink Floyd albums
  9. Well done everybody, I'm enjoying these comps and hope to see them continue for a long time.
  10. @nanette, there is a small select few here that can call themselves PDN masters and I count you as one of them
  11. Don't mind me I'm just picking my jaw up from the floor Amazing talent you have there.
  12. Its all to do with the order you merge the layers. The simplist way is if what you see on the screen is how you want to save it just go FILE>SAVE AS make sure you choose .png format and you will be asked if you wish to flatten layers, select yes and the layers will be flattened in the correct order to retain transparency.
  13. This has been the hardest one for me, been a tough choice but in the end it comes down to errors. Xzerizon - Great sig really like it but the reflection has a few problems especially on the 'e' it just doesn't fit with the rest. Also not keen on that border I personally think a small black or white border around the whole image would of set it of far better. NN78 - Also a great sig and very clean could find no real errors ( a bit of banding just under the first part of your name but that could just be my monitor ) so the point goes to you. Xzerizon - 0 NN79 - 2
  14. Why not just use a combination of AA assistant and gaussian blur I recreated the same image as you with no jaggies, I also made it twice the size then resized to 50%.
  15. Doughty - Nice sig which IMO would have looked better without the black corners Ventor 1 - WOW, one of my fav sigs of the year although I'm not too keen on the border or atleast the corners ( Hmm just realised both sigs have probs with the corners ) Doughty - 0 Ventor 1 - 1
  16. I would say none, get used to the basics first especially using layers and then once you feel comfortable start adding plug-ins.
  17. Welsh - Great job and very different from anyother sig styles I have seen, plus it doesn't hurt that you used my fav Tarantino movie NN79 - Dont take this the wrong way as I am a great lover of sigs that just use text as the main element but I think there has been too many recently. So for this reason I am giving my point to Welsh for trying something different. Welsh - 2 NN79 - 0
  18. Here is my entry 100% PDN yes even those amazing "Sheep"
  19. By the way I in no way condone animal violence in any form.
  20. I had a go and it came out OK but if you have the original pics I will do you a mini tut, here's a quick run down of what I did. You will need the alphamask import plug in. http://forums.getpai...?showtopic=1854 Take a sample of the fence about the same size or as close as you can to the rooster, paste it to a new layer and run alphamask on it (this removes the white background) then paste the image on a new layer above the rooster. Here's what I got ( fence doesn't match up exactly due to the pasting you have already done, I think ) edited to have another go. Wasn't really happy with the way the fence looked so had another attempt with new pics. Googled UFC octagon and found a pic without fighters ( no need to waste time cutting them out ) then googled rooster renders ( again saves time cutting them out ) Pasted resized roosters above the octagon layer then added new layer. Using the line tool made two black lines for the octagon posts, then on a new layer made a selection that covered the roosters then filled with the bucket tool using cross hatching instead of solid colour, primary colour set as black and secondary set as transparent. Ended up with this ( I think its probably similar to what you had in mind )
  21. Are your objects on their own on transparent backgrounds ? if not then there is more work to do,can you post the images here ?
  22. Paste each object into its own layer then move the fence layer to the top.
