  1. Never tried this one before but have to say great work on finding this out its amazing how the texture pops out at you as soon as you use the relief effect.
  2. Have to go with xzerizon for this one, same reasons as welsh, plus I like that it looks continuous. xzerizon - 2 NN79 - 0
  3. Well done Pyro just downloaded it, now to put it to use.
  4. I too go with NN79, nice and bright. chimay12321 - Too dark and the colours do not compliment each other. ( if you had a better one why not just resize it ? ) NN79 - 2 Chimay12321 - 0
  5. Thanks Barbie and Red. Nice image xhin, reminds me of a new years celebration on some distant alien planet.
  6. Hi Greg, I am a bit late to this helpful topic but thought I'd give a bit of advice. Like NN79 said it does need either feathering or AA assistant, to see why make a new layer and fill it with black and move it to the bottom of your layer stacks ( Its always a good idea to have 2 layers at the bottom one white and one black and switch between them to check your work especially when working with transparency ) Feather can be found by going to EFFECTS>OBJECT>FEATHER and AA assistant is a plug in which you will have to dl from here http://forums.getpai...showtopic=16643 Once DL unzip it and move the .dll files to your paint.net effects folder ( remember to close pdn first ) another idea is a drop shadow, there is a plug in to do this for you but its very easy without 1. Duplicate the layer with the e now go to ADJUSTMENTS>HUE/SATURATION and move the lightness slider all the way to the left ( this turns it black ) now go to EFFECTS>GAUSSIAN BLUR ( and blur it to about 4 px ) and then move this layer below the blue e layer. You can either keep it as it is or use the blue move arrow to place it in a better position. Also you may wish to change the opacity by double clicking on the layer in your layer windows box. You could also do as Barbie suggests and outline the e but bear in mind both these options will show up the jaggies more so even more important to use feather or AA. One last pointer try and think what size you wish your finished logo to be and start of with a canvas 4xbigger and then when finished give the whole image a gaussian blur at 2-3/px then resize by 25% this will eliminate most jaggies and give the image a very clean look. Good luck *Just copied your image into pdn to see what feathering, outline and drop shadow does to it and it seems as the the image is not on a transparent background :s anyone else have this problem ?
  7. @Ventor1, I hope you finish this
  8. Here's one more. Forgot to add link to stock (sunrise pic on the vision half ) and now I can't find it hope this doesn't disqualify me Musical notes and clef made in PDN Just re-searched for image using work comp and found it on page 1 yet when I search at home it doesn't appear ( both searches done through google images ) strange but true. http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-J0ms_mKUTMg/TuS1QPg8LqI/AAAAAAAAGHA/1IobgDijAiQ/s1600/sunrise.jpg
  9. My vote on this one goes to NN79 simple but easy on the eye. Kemaru yours seems overly complicated, so much so that I am not sure what I am looking at I would of liked to have seen it with just the KML and the coloured swirly lines on a nice clear background. NN79 - 1 Kemaru - 1
  10. @Midora, thanks I will bookmark this incase I run in to problems again, also thanks to everyone else who answered.
  11. Sorry for double post but wanted to post my entry before I spent too much time on it and ruined it. and source http://ozguler.info/images/2005-ford-gt40-specs.jpg Only line tool, paint bucket, gaussian blur and gradients used.
  12. Thank for the help but managed to get it done on my sisters comp thank God.
  13. I am working on my image for the realistic vehicle comp, I started with a 800x600 canvas and resized it by 400% so that I could blur and shrink it down later. Problem is it is now 84 layers and although I can save it as a .pdn I cannot save as a .png or crop it both instances I get a window saying not enough memory to perform the task and if I try and resize it freezes at about 78% I am doing all this on my work comp as I thought it could handle it, obviously not. Any ideas ?
  14. I could always give you my bank account number if you feel that bad Nah it's all good I have a few things to sort out financially then that will be my next purchase hopefully in the new year. Back to this comp, I feel that I have benefited from only working on it at work as normally I rush things. Went in last night and without being bigheaded I am really impressed with what I have done so far and feel that it is my best piece of art by far and for anyone trying out for this comp stick with it, at first mine looked like garbage but slowly hour by hour it turned into something amazing ( for me ) and I am so glad that Aislin came up with this idea
  15. I'm hoping to have my entry ready by the deadline but have to limit my art time to when I am at work my home PC is slowly dying I would say I'm 70% finished but have 2 days off so time is at a premium so I'd better stop this and get creating
  16. Hmmm I quite like them both so hard to choose............................. Doughty - a great texture but the rest is a bit bland maybe a nice thin border would set it off ? qwertyuu - Nice background but I think it would of looked better IMO if the qwertyuu followed one of the curves and maybe if you added a bit more subtle colour to the sig. Now to the vote.................... Doughty - 1 qwertyuu - 0 On another day my vote may of been different as it was so close.
  17. Well done Jim, very impressive. Strange but I'm with Welsh on this one the jaggies actually seem to fit the image ( I usually hate them ) Still working on my entry its easier and harder than I thought if that makes sense.
  18. I am trying my best to enter this comp but I feel I won't make it by the deadline, surely 2 weeks would be better.
  19. Slightly off topic but went to see the remake of Total Recall and it has one of, if not the best future cities since Blade Runner amazing CGI work.
