My paint.net program had fatal errors & was deleted. Tried to download new one. It...OK, now this is weird. I've been trying for some 2 weeks to get install to work. Errors with dnp & Shem-something.exe. As I'm typing this Microsoft.net pops in after waitng quite some time to load 4.5.2. Then paint.net window pops in then dissapears. I clicked on the 4.0.4 file again to run it, & it finally installed. Something to do with windows 7 being slow or error-ridden installing things it seems. I don't know what causes these things, but it finally worked. I need your program to do my book covers as microsoft paint just doesn't cut it. If you folks know anything about these technical glitches, it'd be nice to post them here for others to hopefully get some relief. I got to where I much prefer your program for my book cover art. Thanks for listening. I also tried the suggestion for that windows thing in the list that had stopped running. Your suggestions worked to get it running again. I assume this had something to do with getting the .net to download & install. Sorry if I'm not very clear about such things, but I went through a lot the last hour trying to get it to work.

I'll have to look into those. I need all the help I can get to improve my artwork as I move further into this. Thanks!

Howdy! I just thought I'd show the results of my first attempt at designing my own labels for my home brewed ales. I have to thank those that helped Me figure out some of the layering problems I was having. I found out quickly that the image or part thereof must be saved unaltered first. Then sized & put in place. Then artistic endeavors can commence. I used a piece of a stock image off the net to place in my artwork. Now if I had a light pen & pad,it might be easier to use the paint brush,etc. But,anyway,here it is; see me here

Ok,I think I get what you're saying now. I can move the piece of the original pic I cut out as an import file into position & resize it. But NOT a pre-processed one. The way the software is working,anyway. Thank you so much for helping with that one extra hint! Good thing you include your little hints,it saved my sanity! This is all very new to me,since we used to have to do art the hard way back in the highchoolzoic era.

This just doesn't work. The image pops into the upper left corner of the screen & stays there. I can't budge it at all. I put the box in the middle of the label,nothing. Just empty box. Try to click & drag,it only grabs a piece of the image from the lower right corner. I'm just flat out not getting this to work at all! I can't even get the pic I want on layer 2 to display in the little space in the layer 2 box in the layers window. Nothing is working the way it seems that it should. Every tutorial I see says push this button,click on this...but not HOW to do it after that.

When I try to do this,only the box moves. I can't move the image itself. Is it me or the program? I feel like I'm missing something?...

Hi all, I'm having trouble adding an image I altered with this program to a label I designed with 3.5.8. It's a label for my home brew beer bottles. I can put the image paste box where I want it,& size it. But the image doesn't transfer to said box. Am I missing something? Why can't I just click & drag? How is this done??
